Room at the front is very memorable
Breakfasts need to be more cordinated. The Delivery of the full B'fast needs to allow for those having a cereal /Juice Etc first.
Location. Bathroom was clean
No place sit &relax other than bar. Slow to make up the room. Still wasn't done by 12.30pm. Pillows were poor.
Fantastic location and very helpful staff
Great staff and food Suites are fantastic Got upgraded on two occasions City centre location
Parking arrangement is ok, but not ideal Some of the basic rooms are a bit pokey
Loved the room, the bed, the location, the hotel. Our 1st visit to Exeter for shopping trip and it couldn't of been better :) Very beautiful spot, hope to return at Christmas.
This is the second time I have stayed at the Abode in Exeter, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, perfect location too!
This is our second time and we like everything about this hotel. Our room had a great view of the Cathedral with an ENORMOUS & very comfortable bed, with everything else you would need. We also really enjoyed sitting outside drinking coffee & listening to Mr Marconi's lovely guitar music. It seemed to us that although not paid by the hotel, his music was attracting quite a few customers. Also really loved the MC champagne, in my opinion the best I have had.No doubt we will be back!
Nothing, the friendly and helpful staff attended very quickly to one minor detail in the room and we had no issues.
Friendly helpful staff Affordable Central location
The comfort The layout of the room The view The bed The bathroom Everything
We had a room which looked out onto the cathedral hitch was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was really clean and bed really comfortable. Would highly recommend this hotel, really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.
Nothing to dislike.
Only the difficulty in driving there - apparently not unusual!
The location was great and the restaurant was excellent.
The room was very small, even though it was officially a superior room. It had a great view of the cathedral, but there wasn't much space, and the mattress was so soft that it was painful to sleep on, or even to sit on (which was necessary since the room was so small that it only had room for one chair).
Central location Friendly staff Comfy beds
Noise from pub next door filtered through room wall (avoid 105 if you can!) The car park is a good 5 minute walk away (I was aware of this though) and felt central location out weighed this In room pamphlet said there was sky sports channels none were available though..
We got upgraded to a junior suite which had a great view of the cathedral. We had a superb meal in the cafe bar and the staff, particularly Ryan, looked after our one year old daughter brilliantly. We hope to return.
Amazing room, exceptional staff.great location and suprising value!!! Best hotel in exeter for all round satisfaction!
Situation Staff were very good - helpful and thoughtful Breakfast was good - service particularly good Being able to walk into the City so quickly Old nature of the hotel gives character
Parking being away from the Hotel Car Park not pleasant
Second room was a really good size with a great view through two large windows of Cathedral. Good facilities in room, iron, blow dryer, etc. All the staff were excellent, very friendly, very helpful, could not do enough.
Parking was a 5 min walk away. Luckily it was not raining. You can pull up outside and drop bags off, same with pick up. They give you a parking pass for 20 mins. We moved rooms, first room had a horrible view of a brick wall. We weren't keen on the bath in the bedroom either.
Oustanding location, friendly and problem-solving staff, superconfortable room
The parking was too expensive and quite puzzling to reach and understand
Bed too soft.
When booking I had requested a Cathedral view from our room if possible. On arrival we were told we had an upgrade as it was my birthday, and on arriving in our 'room with a view' discovered chocolates and a birthday card from the Abode team. What a lovely touch and much appreciated. Fantastic location and very comfortable room.
Early morning deliveries to the hotel were a little noisy but I'm sure that there would be little that the hotel could do about that as the road was inaccessible later in the day.
Big bed, full equipped room, very comfortable
Room had very small high frosted glass window which left you with the feel of being in a cell
Location Comfortable bed
Noisy air conditioning
Lovely, helpful staff. Very comfortable bed and nicely decorated room. Air-con and double glazing. Excellent central location with easy walk to many restaurants, shops and culture.
Some noise at night - but only what you would expect from a city centre location. Breakfast a bit pricey but many other local cafes to choose from if you prefer.
There is no car parking at the hotel and they send you on a mystery trip to a NCP car park when you can park at the end of the road free of charge between 6pm and 8am so i think they are on some sort of commission from NCP. the postcode on thier address when out in a sat nav doesnt get you to the hotel when you then call the hotel they give you a different postcode why not tell you that up front
Excellent location when you find the hotel
Difficult to find the hotel.GSP gets you to the gate just opposite the building. Would be good to have figures in the town to help finding the entrance.!!! Very old lift! Would be nice with a separate lounge not beside the reception. Freezer in the room to get cold drinks. Mirror(enlarging for easier shaving) and fastened near the washing
