The Glen Mhor Hotel offers Victorian townhouses and apartments located on the banks of the River Ness, a 3-minute walk from Inverness city centre and a 15-minute drive from Loch Ness.
Score from 1310 reviews Good
This grand hotel has a great location in the heart of Inverness, yet in a quiet area with splendid views of the River Ness and Inverness Castle.
Score from 605 reviews Good
Set in the heart of Inverness and overlooking the River Ness, Mercure Inverness has a gym, and free high-speed WiFi. Inverness Rail Station is 200 metres from the hotel.
Score from 458 reviews Good
Situated in central Inverness, Ardross Glencairn is just 5 minutes’ walk from the river and 15 minutes from the bus and rail station.
Score from 1374 reviews Very good
Unbeatable location - good rooms with modern fittings and all the extras including wifi and all the freeview channels. Reasonable rate for a single night occupancy at the weekend.
You'll find a 20% discount voucher for the Ash restaurant next to the reception area. The meals are okay but nothing special - microwave lamb shanks and airline catering desert portion of sticky toffee pudding. Try one of the other eateries nearby instead.
Very convenient for rail travellers. Comfortable room with everything I needed. Helpful polite staff.
Charming hotel with lots of character and beauty. Staff helpful and friendly. Large comfortable rooms, great central location and hearty breakfasts.
Limited WiFi access, even after paying for it. The restaurant is poorly laid out. Tables far too close together, very cramped and no privacy. Expected better quality of food.
room was very clean and comfortable. all staff were very pleasant. generally the hotel was very welcoming.
+Central location +excellent clean en suite +Efficient and pleasant staff
+skimpy duvet...used other duvet from unoccupied twin bed to keep warm +hot breakfast buffet overcooked and kept warm too long...bacon tough and unpleasant taste, fried eggs hard...plenty of pleasant efficient staff..why don't you employ them to cook breakfast to order ?
Location in centre of town enables you to shop without requiring a car. Close proximity to the railway and bus stations is an added benefit. Although an older hotel the bed and bath rooms have been upgraded and all were very clean. The foyer is impressive and staff were very helpful.
The price we paid was a bit high for this older type of hotel and the fact that breakfast was extra added to this view.
Noisy room, right next to main road. Noise came from traffic and people leaving the pubs late.
Location and proximity to station
Bar prices, nowhere to sit in the room, TV has to be watched from the bed, although at least the tenth time I have stayed here there is not the faintest recognition from the staff, a customer service course might improve matters.
Its location was excellent and its staff was superb - some of the best staff in all of Scotland.
The building is old. My bathroom sloped. The beds were tiny. And for the price, I wanted more. I would have been fine with these things if the price had been cut in half.
The staff, particularly at reception made our stay special. The hotel although an older building was clean and well maintained. Spacious room with a very comfortable bed, spotlessly clean as was the bathroom and linen.
The street noise late Saturday night and early Sunday morning which is not the fault of the hotel.
The only "liked" was the location of the Hotel.
Not enough hot water pressure to shower.A very disappointing shower is no way to start a day...
Windows really need double glazing. The outside noise was very loud.
Clean, comfortable & central.
The bar, the bar service, the bar staff! Discount is given for your second drink - we didn't get that far!
Location from the station was brilliant. Plenty of choices for food etc. in surrounding area. Comfortable bath tab and very cleaned room. I liked the hotel itself.
As it was next to the bus station and train station, I woke up at 3:00 AM due to the noise/shouting coming from outside. Probably for about half an hour it lasted. I guess they were catching an early train or bus but it was disappointing and annoying. Probably it depends on which side your room is and believe it happens occasionally only.
Comfy bed, good restaurant
Rattling window, dirty tv handset
Staff were friendly and understanding of our unhappiness with the room and gave us 2 complimentary drinks at the bar for our long wait on arrival.
Reception staff could not find my booking, said the booking was double booked and they had my confirmation number under a different name...waited quite a long time to be resolved, not great after a 6 hour travel. Eventually found us a room, room 111, if you get given this room, refuse!!! It had stray hairs around the bath and surrounding walls and the hot water tap leaked all over the surface when turned on. The single pane windows don't stop any noise coming in from outside which is a pity as the bottle bins from the bar are situated directly under the room, and can be heard being filled on many of occasions, and the noise from the gang of youths on skateboards who hang out at the same place, which is the back of the train station until the early hours of the night. The bottle bins I have already mentioned are then emptied by a reversing bin lorry (duely noted by the very loud reversing horn and the distinct sound of smashing glass abd bottles into the back of the bin lorry) at 7am the next morning!! To say this was a bad experience would be an understatement and really put a downer on our breakaway/anniversary trip to Inverness. Sorry to say I won't be making the 6 hour drive any time again soon.
Regret to say that due to flight delays we didnt reach Inverness on the THursday. We tried to let the Hotel know but the text message apparently didnt get to the right person. We called at the Hotel on the Friday to check. The receptionist was very pleasant but explained we were registered as Did Not Arrive. Shame really as it was good looking and positioned Hotel
Comfort , good location , kind and friendly staff .
As we were arrived by train the location of the hotel was excellent part of the station complex. Being a small city the hotel was very much part of city centre very little walking.
Only complaint we were only there for the weekend. Just love that city and the area generally so beautiful.
Excellent food at breakfast time and the Ash restaurant also served excellent food in the evening. All staff friendly and helpful.
Breakfast room and bedrooms need air conditioning.
1. Staff were friendly. 2. Fantastically close to the rail station - literally next door! 3. Tea/coffee making facilities were generous, with snacks and 2 bottles of water.
1. Bedside lights didn't work, only light in room that worked was the overhead one, not ideal! 2. Lack of power points - none beside bed. 3. TV didn't have many channels. 4. Wifi wasn't free - I think at least a 30-minute free period should be allowed as I suspect it may not be particularly good quality.
The atmosphere is very nice. And the position is just near the railwaystation in the center of the town. Super for traintraveling!
The bar is not cosey, and it is cold there. The windows in the room are a bit difficult to handle. Further no remarks.
I like the history and position of the Hotel--love the decor and general feeling
The telephone in my room did not work and even after frequent requests the only offer was to use the reception desk phone .Very difficult for a private conversation
Location, arriving by bus and in walking distance to all sights of Inverness. Generous bedroom and bathroom.
A bit noisy at night, but no surprise to the age of the house (single glasing windows) and the central location.
I liked the welcome .. the room and breakfast all excellent
