The hotel was nicely situated on the seafront. Our room was beautifully decorated along with being very spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the food and drink on offer was of a good standard contributing to a very pleasant stay for us both.
Looking out to the sea
Friendly staff Dog friendly Great location Clean Good selection of drinks in room Nice food
Beds very uncomfortable
Room, location, view and breakfast
Not enough power sockets
Very helpful staff. The best value rooms we have experienced in the UK, and probably within Europe. Right on the shore with no roads to cross. The in-house meals were very well prepared and excellent value.
Just a bit of a haul to the top floor, but then again staff were on hand to assist. Anyway, an elevator would have ruined the historical charm of the hotel!
Staff were excellent and position of hotel perfect.
We were a three-generation group of five and we enjoyed the historical and modern aspects of the hotel. The children, aged 11 and 8, were treated respectfully and not as a nuisance, as can sometimes happen in the United Kingdom.
The parking was a challenge but we were lucky and secured a spot next to the hotel.
The room and location.
If i was being picky, at breakfast, staff on reception were gossiping about other staff, which i thought was unprofessional, and did not fit well with the hotel.
In The Nelson Room we greatly enjoyed the balcony, especially the best breakfast ever! The bath tub in the room was a unique touch and the birthday card on arrival was a really sweet thought. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!
Nothing - everything was excellent thanks!
Location was great. Deal is an absolute gem. Bed was comfortable and slept like a log. We only ate at breakfast time and could not fault what was provided.
Stayed in a room on the top floor. Being in what was effectively the attic the heat was at time (the height of summer) rather uncomfortable. There was also a problem with no opening window in the bathroom (this had been painted shut!) and no extractor fan! However to their credit the desk staff immediately following our comments to them sourced a large fan which helped cool things down considerably.
Excellent staff. Furnishings in keeping with hotel's period. Food (breakfast and dinner sampled). Superb location. Lovely large room and enormous bath and shower room, We were in Swiftsure, which was very well equipped for disability access.
One for housekeeping: on arrival there was a fusty smell in room, which disappeared overnight with windows open.
The bed where can I buy one?
No wifi in our room
Good Location excellent well cooked Breakfast
Poor Wi-fi reception No dedicated car park or concession for guests
Staff extremely helpful. We booked this hotel as we were attending a celebration in Walmer and wanted to be in walking distance. However you have to pay to park in Council car park just next to hotel but the hotel kindly fed the parking meter whilst we were out partying!
The Balcony room - Wellington very spacious, high ceilings, lovely bath. Great views and breakfast on the balcony excellent and very relaxing. You can watch the world go by!
Everything! Room with balcony Staff very helpful All food excellent Comfort Weather (not in control of hotel I know but was wonderful)
Slight downside is difficulty of parking, but if you drive further along the seafront for 2 minutes parking is free and the walk back to the hotel wonderful! Also, we found the shower room a bit cramped, but acceptable non the less.
Location is ideal for sea views and easy access to everything in the area. Comfortable room/bed, good food, plenty of choice at breakfast and staff were polite and attentive without overdoing it. Restaurant food is very good in the evening, and enough choice for a few days stay.
Pay and display carpark directly outside the hotel is great if you remember to feed the meter at 9am when the free overnight rate runs out. It is busy though, and wardens are very eagle eyed. The road can be very busy and noisy early in the morning, but only if the room windows are open.
Super hotel with great character and location on the sea shore. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.
Car parking right in front of hotel is a very cheap public Pay and Display although could be tricky at busy times. However, we had no difficulty at 3pm on a sunny July midweek day.
Convienent location, clean and comfortable, very friendly staff and dog friendly.
Nothing to dislike
we liked the view ,the staff the room .the breakfast,it was a really nice hotel
sometimes the nextdoorneighbours were noisy. the plastic bathmats are horrilbly mouldy,so throw them away....
Friendly staff. Very large and clean room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Seafront position.
Lack of communication amongst staff of our dietary requirements. Sash windows require maintenance. Wi-fi access in our room was non-existent.
Location, service exceptional friendly and accommodating staff food superb well recommended would stay again
Only downside is parking facility specifically in high season could be a drawback to location of the hotel
We left some clothes behind the reception phoned us to arrange to send them onto us this seemed no problem to them
Location, bar food and beer, comfort and size of room.
No private car park
Location and good rooms.
Being allocated a disabled room
