Central. Fantastic breakfast, lovely room. Friendly & welcoming staff. Will recommend to a friend & stay there again. It takes a lot to shock me, but wats going on in t mess at t moment to young officers is shocking me. I can't watch.
Comfy bed quiet room
Eat out, had to wait too long don't think they cook many evening meals
Great stay, top marks
No problems at all
Lovely hotel in a brilliant location
Have been here 3 times now. If it was our first visit, I don't think we'd come again. Checking in wasn't as welcoming as we'd remembered or liked. I commented that I wasn't sure what surname the booking was under (as we'd only gotten married a few weeks ago). The huffy, rude, older female receptionist who checked us in insinuated we were having an affair by asking my 'friend, partner or colleague' for a signature. We found this very rude and however small this detail is, it overshadowed our whole stay. Hotels are known for being discrete. If any one booking in this hotel IS wanting to use this hotel for a secret rendezvous, beware! The whole reception area will know!
Location for a weekend out on the town night life and shopping for the wife during the day
Does not have Own car park was concerned on availability of parking this close to Xmas arrived early no problem
Nice & modern Close to all amenities
£140.00 with breakfast is to much money for this hotel
Great location to the City centre and our venue at the Motorpoint Arena.
Nothing not to like about the Hotel
Noise inside & outside the hotel at two am,
Right in the middle of city centre, surrounded by sport & entertainment venues and excellent shops. Five minutes walk from station.
While the breakfast was just about okay, the service was awful, running out of various things and having to wait for plates, bread, beans, coffee, milk etc, etc. Total chaos!! Waiting 35 minutes for evening meal in dining room when being the only ones there!
Extremly pleased ! Very good value for money .
Convenient place to stay
Duvet appeared to be a single on a double bed very lumpy. Bathroom was tired looking - poor grouting in tiles dirty looking and rusty nail. Water leak marks by shower. Staff waiting outside room chating waiting for you to leave when you still had up to an hour before checkout. Breakfast was cold - cooked hours before and sat in pans on warmers that weren't even on
Great size room and comfy bed. Cleanliness of room was good. Would
Clean and comfortable. Very good Breakfast. Hotel nicely done out for Christmas. Nicely maintained.Perfect position.
Asked for our fan to be looked at but it wasn't.The room heating was set on a very high temp. Its wasteful.
The location is fantastic, right opposite Kebab Alley, what more could you want?! If you are after the best place to stay for the Rugby or a night out, look no further, as this hotel is pretty much on Mary Street. Fantastic location for shopping trips also but the facilities might not be up to scratch if you are more 'comfort' orientated, as I am. The decor in the main lobby and bar is gorgeous, up to date and plush.
The room was decent but lacking in warmth and comfort, somehow. On the website, the double rooms had two bedside lamps each, our room only had one which not only meant that it was dimly lit but that only one person could get up for a wee in the middle of the night! When we first got there, the main fragrance was cleaning products, which was a bit off putting. It was clean, mainly, but I did have to remove a couple of cobwebs and there was no way Room Service had bothered with the corners for a long time. I think the decor would have been banging in about 2002 but now in 2014, it seemed tired and dated. If only they redecorated the room to match the newly refurbished main lobby and bar, which are beautiful! The room had a few strange features :- the coffee facilities were housed in the wardrobe, the bathroom bin and bath plug were broken, as was the air conditioning!! Instead, we had a portable radiator, which did work but took a really long time to heat the room up properly (we did stay during a cold snap). There was one red cushion on the bed but it was grubby and gross looking so I left it in the wardrobe. There were not enough plug sockets, possibly because one was in use for the heater. The matress was very comfy but the soundproofing was poor. One of the things which upset me the most was the cold. It was almost freezing outside and with the air conditioning not working, the portable heater struggled to cope. The hotel didn't provide extra bedding to compensate and so I spent hours searching Cardiff for a hot water bottle, instead of Christmas shopping as planned. Really, the bed needed a nice blanket and some plump (clean) cushions also but these were missing. We only got one pillow each as well :( I think Room Service were slightly mad because they took away our complimentary soap and failed to replenish the hot chocolate and milk sachets. This meant a trip to Tesco at 11pm.
Room was clean and tidy. Shower was excellent. Bed was nice and comfortable. Staff were very helpful.
Close to station
Room size, noise. Breakfast should have been included. Felt the price was because of location but room not worth the price
Great central location within easy walking distance of the train station and the Motor Point Arena. Good value for money and staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit available.
The noise outside in the street and the Wi-fi didn't work in our room.
it was in a good area.
right next to a night club so was very noisey.
Location was brilliant and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
There wasn't much to dislike tbh. Only one lift was a bit of a pain but not too much hassle.
location was close to train station@close tothe main shopping center very ideal
the only thing with the room was a bit cold at night
Superior room was excellent. Bed was unbelievably comfortable. Staff very friendly & helpful.Location great as I wanted to stay central but not by the train station or by the castle. Was very quiet too.Would recommend this hotel.
Wifi didn't work. Layout of hotel is like a maze. Noises from clubbers outside at weekends keep you awake. Breakfast was not hot. Double room very cramped. Much preferred premier inn on last visit to Cardiff. Bedroom was tiny for a double room!
Location Room size Bed size Tv Free wine with room (but it was red)
Bed smelt of urine Someone entered our room when we were out they rummaged through our shopping tampering with gift bags that can no longer be used for expensive perfume indented as Christmas present. No sound proofing from other hotel users on same floor
