Friday night revelling could be heard from the room
Very friendly staff. Perfectly clean and comfortable Twin room which was well appointed. Central location - great for shopping and sightseeing. Tasty breakfast.
The NCP Wood Street is impossible to find with a SatNav. Parking spaces too tight for an average 4X4 - Had to move to David II on the second night. Need to provide teapots or larger cups for tea/coffee at Breafast - my half finished breakfast was cleared away whilst I popped up to buffet to refill my tiny teacup - think of us single folk!
Rooms were clean and everything required was provided. beds very comfy and despite location there was no noise from outside. Staff were effecient and friendly. Breakfast was delicious.
The entrance to the Hotel isnt great or welcoming, everytime you want to go out you have to take 2 seperate lifts & stairs. The reception area is nice and furnishings are stylish but the whole place lacked soul. Breakfast experience would have been enhanced by some background music - you could hear a pin drop in the dining room !
The bed was amazing, native and very comfy. The staff were friendly, breakfast was odd, it was a buffet when I got there, but changed to table orders. Food fine.
It's definitely somewhere you want to go as a couple not quite so much as a solo traveller - and is very central but noisy at the weekend!
Clean room with hairdryer, iron, ironing board, tv and wifi router.
Wifi refused to work despite 4 different routers being tried. Staff eventually stopped responding to my requests for help with it!
lovely soft sheets and such a comfortable bed
breakfast wasn't as good as I'd expect, not a great setting and not the highest quality food
Excellent location, fine staff, stylish furnishings. Liked my corner room with plenty of storage and all amenities.
Unless you know the back door, there are stairs to negotiate via the front entrance. If you have luggage this can be a problem. Front entrance is a little hard to locate for newcomers.
Close to all amenities and attractions. Despite being in the middle of the city centre was quiet in room. Staff not to be faulted. Would definitely go again. Did not eat at the hotel so can't comment.
Access can be a little confusing
Above excellent standards, pleasant helpful staff
Room on 5th floor - escaped the noise of St Mary Street (just). Dual aspect room (505) - lots of natural light. Modern decor, decent sized TV
No bath in the room (though I didnt ask for one specifically) Smell in the bathroom Room showing signs of age and wear and tear - needs some TLC. Bathroom in particular looking tired Air con wont go lower than 19 degrees - with a fever and warm room this wasnt great but being ill, I slept anyway!
I loved the furniture, the oak walls. However it was a little taxing getting my suitcase up the initial few steps and then down steps to get to the lift but we found the back entrance to leave. Perfect location
bed was comfortable, good facilities and staff were very friendly.
room needed a thorough clean especially door frames, picture frames and light and plug fittings.
a lot of noise from the outside on Fri & sat nights.
it was ideally situated close to station and shopping centre .
the room was too small bed was uncomfortable it was very stuffy there .
Room was spacious, clean and well equipped staff were friendly and gave us an extended check out free looking forward to coming back
Complimentary bottle of wine even though it went to my friends room in 601 although I paid the bill for both. Nice touch. The Bees
Hair dryer in the wardrobe. Curtains in dinning room preventing a view outside. High window in room 603 where you couldn't see anything & made the room dark.
Central location Staffs are friendly Price is good Free WIFI Large bath room
Poor sound proof - there're noises even when people walking on the hall way The kettle in my room was not clean and there're used tea bags inside The stairs and layout is not for people with large luggages
quality of the bed is not great
Central location, just walk out the door and everything was there. Room lovely
double glazing window was broke or next to useless was kept awake until around 5am when all party goers went home and taxis stopped pipping their horns, I gathered this affected other people staying in the hotel as well.
The hotel was in the heart of town close to everything. The rooms were excellent value for money the staff were very helpful
I can't complain about anything
cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff and convenient position.
other people letting their doors slam at all hours of the night and day, especially night when one is sound asleep.
The whole place needs to be refurbished. It looks tired and un inviting. No air conditioning. And the cleaners did absolutely nothing bar make the bed,
Very central and handy for eating out. Clean and modern room.
Outside of hotel does not make you feel welcome. I suspect at weekends it would be noisy from the street
Great Value for money
Not much choice for breakfast
The room was very large with a nice big bed (couldn't get a twin room) We loved the size of the TV too!! The ensuite was nice. I would highly recommend room 507 as it's tucked away from everything being on the 5th floor so it's private but it doesn't have much of a view!
The bed was hard with not enough pillows. Also it could of had bigger windows and been warmer (heating was poop)
