Ok just stayed here for the Saturday night and this is my opinion of this once fabulous hotel, from the beginning to check out.
Hotel is located along main drinking strip in Cardiff, very very loud even on the sixth floor.
The ground floor is now a nightclub, entrance is via a dirty side door, reception is on second floor, dark and dingy with misplaced boutique style furnishings., reception staff seriously lacking in personalty and friendliness.
When we came back at midnight after being out with friends someone had been sick all over the steps leading into hotel, disgusting and no attempt being made to clear it up.
The room was number 601, looked like a prison cell, weird windows and the room had a very tired feeling about it, poor hot water, dirty shower tiles, dirty floor etc.
Breakfast was good right up to the point that the waitress started clearing the table before we'd finished, what happened to training, why don't hotels train their staff properly is beyond me.
Trying to think of something positive to say but I'm struggling here, room cost I believe was£138 including breakfast, parking is extra. Pay the extra money and stay at the Marriott, no comparison and about forty pounds, well worth paying i can assure you.
Struggling to find anything positive, I'd have to say location if your on a hen or stag do, thats pretty much it, if your spending the weekend getting drunk then its a fine hotel.
