The staff were so friendly and helpful , our room was lovely and the beds were so cozy . Our Evening meal was delicious as was our breakfast . We really couldn't fault the Porch House and will go back .
Ambience of hotel and Stowe
The character of the Porch House was amazing - such an interesting and well looked after building.
Only negative of the whole trip was the parking.
Excellent location Lovely building Great food
Do not stay in room 9 if you want a good nights sleep!
Nice big room, hotel has lots of character. Coffee maker in the room was a nice touch. Staff were very attentive. Excellent food and a jazz night too. Great choice of breakfasts.
Pity there is no car park but we were lucky and got a space on the road quite close to hotel both nights.
Lots of great character. Loved the way the pub and hotel had been decorated with style but was still old fashioned and traditional but without trying too hard to be. They had an eye for detail with everything. Wanted to recreate the furniture etc. in my own home - so many nice little extras to found all round the place. Lovely and homely. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was sooo comfortable! We had a superior room which was a good size and nice and warm despite being a cold weekend.
Only slight complaint was at dinner in the restaurant - the waiter did his best but could have done with a bit more help maybe - our drinks arrived after the starter and seemed a bit slow at taking our order.
Everything you could possibly want from an inn
Pub was busy lunchtime, had some sandwiches with huge chips. Had to wait a while to get served with drinks. Room was very clean and comfy. But no tissues or biscuits which I thought was bad for a 5 star hotel.
Food was not that good in the evening. My husband and friend could not eat the pork chop. They were too fatty, although they did cook some more, they did not enjoy them. I booked two rooms and we ended up with the room without a bath. We were in room 6 on the front, could hear traffic.
Very cosy and warm. Loved the bar, restaurante and areas to relax. Wonderful log fires and excellent team of v helpful staff
Room was a bit small. The sink was minute ok for hand washing but impossible to wash in or shave!
Very good staff, good food, good beer. Room spacious and comfortable.
Lots of steps! Room was at the front of teh hotel and quite noisy at night.
Warm cosey pub. A lot of effort had gone into decorating the restaurant and bedrooms to be country chic. Everywhere was spotless too.
Really wanted to love it, but just didn't, was quite disappointing. As mentioned, there were positives, so nicely decorated etc, but ... The room was so small it was stressful and not relaxing or enjoyable to spend any time in. Even trying to brush your teeth was frustrating!! Escaped the room for a nice meal in the restaurant and it just wasn't as good as it should have been. Food was ok, but bit of a let down. Overall it was quite stressful to stay there and not a relaxing treat at all really. Such a shame, clearly a lot of effort has gone into it, there's just something missing. It didn't match what we believed it was trying to be. I can't deny the place wasn't beautiful, but that doesn't matter when the substance isn't there.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The Porch House had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful building in a lovely location. Great service and food was of a good standard too.
Wasn't sure on arrival where to check in, a sign would have been useful.
Lovely establishment refurbished in keeping with style of building and lovely rooms, even though on small side. Helpful staff and had lovely meal in restaurant. Would go again if staying in that part of the world.
Breakfast was cold on second morning, first morning much better.
Everything about The Porch House
Nothing to fault
Wonderful overnight stay at The Porch House. Appreciative of attention to detail, stylish decor and standard of service. Highly recommended, will definitely return.
Very clean, staff very attentive. Food excellent ,ideal location .
Room was comfortable but very small, we are hoping to return next spring and if we do we would choose an upgrade
Lovey hotel great location food was good and rooms tastefully decorated.
Standard room a little on small side but you adap.
Super location and lovely building. Even though my bedroom looked onto the main road it was surrprisingly quiet. Easy access to Stow. I didn't have a pet but it was obvious that pets were welcome which I thought was wonderful.
My only criticism was the lighting in the bathroom. One bulb had gone which made use of the mirror for make up difficult.
Very helpful staff, value for money, good location. Room was v comfortable, warm and cosy. Food and wine v good. Excellent breakfast.
The food was superb.the atmosphere was very friendly.
Breakfast was good but the services were difficult to understand
We travelled with a 1 year old and the hotel was perfect. Staff were helpful, location was amazing, food was excellent and so were the drinks. Would highly recommend a stay at the Porch House.
Would have liked to see more parking, but we didn't struggle with a space at this quiet time of year. Wifi did drop in and out.
Staff were attentive and very good Food was good, as was range and quality of beverages. I liked it very much .
No stand for suitcase No bath robes Fake log burning stoves
Beds were comfortable .Well heated. Good food.Good wine.real value for money
