Very polite and friendly staff,Clean and comfortable room with excellent en suite facilities. I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at Rutland Hotel. I would not hesitate staying there again and will highly recommend it to family and friends for future travel. Tha only downfall in my opinion was that: travelling alone, a sea view from my room would have been the icing on the cake. This I requested but did not get.

The girls on reception were great they welcomed me and I was shown where the restaurant and bar was. One of them showed me to my room and even carried my case. The room was large, clean and very comfortable with a great bathroom. Considering I had paid a budget price for my stay I was happily surprised to find good quality complimentry shampoo etc in the bathroom. Breakfast was also included and it was very good and just what I needed after a night on the town. I have told my friends what a great place it is and cheaper than a taxi home. I will definitely stay here again.

We had stayed in The Rutland before and had a lovely time there. On both occasions our room was spacious, airy, clean and well serviced each day. Having parking on the Queens Prom is an added bonus. Staff are helpful and friendly. The entrance into the Hotel is via quite steep steps but this is the case with most of the Hotels/B&B's on the Prom. It does pose a bit of a problem for elderly and disabled people.

The room was comfortable and had a good view. Facilities were good .We were given a replacement tv to replace one that didn't work. Some staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We were made to feel welcome. The reception staff were always ready to give us more coffee and milk for the bedroom use. The location was good, being quite near the ferry terminal and the bus stop. and it was an easy walk into Douglas. Nothing major. The tv wasn't working when we arrived and having reported it three times it was repaired the next day and replaced the day after. No one answered the telephone at reception when we first tried to report the tv problem. We guessed this was lack of staff rather than anything else. One or two of the dining room staff seemed to be inexperienced and lacking customer care skills. There was a lack of coffee granules in the bedroom--two sachets of decaf' and two "ordinary" each day.

Breakfast was self service but was excellent value for money, delicious and not rushed. Staff in the restaurant had excellent customer service. The room (executive) was spacious, extremely clean, well decorated. Excellent ensuite. We would definitely stay again and would recommend it. The only problem was the bed was very uncomfortable. This was the only negative point - a big problem in one way but the pluses have been so good that we would still go there again.

The rooms were lovely & spacious, the buffet breakfast was to die for. The restaurant offered a fixed menu @ a very good price. Entertainment at night left a lot to be desired and catered for the older "coach tour" clientelle. Overall, a very pleasant place to stay No covered area for us anti-social smokers!

My sister and I found our stay at the Rutland just what we expected it to be. The staff were helpful and the food was excellent. I had a lovely sea view and my sister's room was fine - after she had been moved from room 217! Do not stay in room 217 - smelly and you can't open the windows because the kitchen air vent is very noisy about 6 a.m.! Also the lift is VERY small - not a problem if you are prepared to be patient and wait or happy to climb stairs.

The bedrooms were very spacious and clean. The fact that there were three coach loads of senior citizens staying at the same time as us. It's obvious that the coach travellers are the hotels "bread and butter" as we were treated as second class citizens. Meals in the restaurant were rotated by coach company, we opted for room service however we were told that there were no deserts left due to the fact that there were 3 coaches of guests as well as us!!!! We couldn't get in to the bar on the two nights that we stayed there, and we couldn't get to sleep because of the noise from the entertainment in the bar!!! Whatever you do, don't even think about asking for a peppermint teabag, the look that I was given by staff when I asked for this was appalling. I was told that they only do ordinary tea and coffee!!!

The window is well soundproof. comfortable bed. nice dinning area. good communication. helpful staffs. nice bedroom. good decoration. Toilet flush is not very efficient. doesn't have a bath. doesn't have a good view. the outside of the window is towards the inside courtyard, very noisy and not nice if we open the window. the service is not efficient or even not sufficient. nobody come and pick up our breakfast delivery request. the structure of the floors is like a maze. it's hard to find a way out of it.

The hotel room was very nice especially the bathroom and all very spacious. My room was also upgragred due to hotel space issues as I'd booked online a while ago for a single room but I ended up with a lovely sea view from massvie bay windows in a triple room. The food at the hotel for breakfast was very nice too. The hotel entrance steps were very slippy and wet, some areas had huge puddles of water filing the whole step, very dangerous (even with the sign) and tricky to get up and down.
