“ The pipes in the room where red hot, The windows were painted shut so the heat in the room was terrible. We complained to reception and they were helpful and gave us a fan but that didnt help. Very uncomfortable night sleep. Staff where very friendly though.... ”

Food in the restauraunt was a good standard for the money we paided although the tables were cramped and too close for comfort Room was terrible frosted glass no view, could not close window had to call for help. Bathroom diabolical leaking cracked wash basin and loo paddling on a wet floor had to use towels to mop up reported to reception no evidence of any repair to leaks. On health and safety deep sink cracks cannot be right. glad to get home for a shower

We found it to be value for money - we would stay again. Music entertainment was good, room v. good, breakfast excellent. TV not so good - a bit old fashioned. When we first booked in we were a bit unsure - in parts it seemed to be in a bit of need of care and attention but you cannot beat it for value and food. Very good.

The carpark, Where do I start, I book 3 room for myself an two friends at £25 each for 1 night. At that price I knew it wasn't a 5star!! Checkin was ok, got to our room and open the door..... Couldnt believe my eyes! Never in all the years of staying in hotels and b&b did I see anything like it. Not been updated from the 70s I would say ( but don't mind that) if it was clean!! It wasn't. Went to bathroom frist. The toilet hadn't been cleaned also the toilet roll had been dropped into water (or toilet) an just dried out on rail to use! There was mould around the shower tray, also hairs in plug hole! BEDROOM: lol. Pulled back the sheets an found not one hair but alot, also there was burn holes all over the sheets, wall paper was coming off the walls and big dirty marks all over it, there also. Was mould along the window. Carpet had hair balls all around the wall and under the bed never seen a vacuum in years! Couldnt believe that rooms like this could ever be in use! My other friends rooms had both the same problems! We went down to reception and after standing 20mins waiting on the girl behind the desk to free we just walked out and going to a nearby b&b. Think booking.com need to look at this hotel before selling it on there website!

Good location overlooking the sea and easy to get to the north and south promenades along the sea front. Bus and tram stop opposite hotel at Gynn Square. Parking was relatively easy in nearby streets and free just as well as hotel car park was usually full with only space for a few cars. The hotel had a strange Edwardian charm reminding me of a bygone era still has a ballroom and grand staircase but a it has seen better days. The Savoy was very tired and in need of refurbishing. I was asked to pay my bill for my 3 days stay on arrival which I was not expecting and frankly found strange as this not usual as I usually pay at the end when leaving and they had my credit card details in advance. My room was clean but furnishings were quite old but double bed was comfortable. The TV was small and I could only get 3 channels. The restaurant was let down by the quality of the food and the service eg when entering a notice states wait to be seated but usually no staff were there to greet guests and then I was told it was self-service and sit anywhere. The quality of the main courses was poor and some vegetables were cold and overcooked. The menu stated freshly brewed coffee but only instant was available and when I asked why I was told the fresh coffee had been taken off the menu over the bank holiday weekend! The bar area was too small for the number of guests with not enough seats. They did have a piano player one evening but this was the only form of entertainment. This hotel was quite a disappointment as it looks quite grand from the outside but the inside and food quality was a let down. I will not be returning to the Savoy Hotel unless it gets a makeover and the food quality is improved.

The desk staff courtious bed covers too short for bed, Dirty windows, tv too small and remote only worked if you wer righ in front of it.Very noisy outside my window. Too hot even with radiators off. Fried eggs overcooked even when they came straight out of the kitchen- all yolks hard. And i dont like that you dont have a section on here to put your other comments, like "i will pay the little extra next time and stay in a premier inn, sorry.

The convenience of transport into town. The buffet breakfast was very good and the cleaning staff were very helpful. The room was clean and tidy but needed a deep clean. The bottom of the wardrobe was so dusty and inside the drawers also. Also, the parking was fine until the Friday and saturday night when it was impossible.
