Central location. excellent staff and great facilities. We had forgotton our swimming clothes, so after a quick trip to the charity shop we were able to enjoy their great pool. |

Excellent attention and courteousness from the staff. No air conditioning in the rooms. Probably not a problem at most times of the year, although we happened to be there during a particularly hot spell in July. |

Staff greeted us by name and took endless care to ensure everything was just as we wanted If driving, it would be good if they mentioned that there is a lift from east market street. |

I did not like that there is no longer someone to park your car or a porter at the entry to collect your bags. This is extremely inconvenient. I did not like the lack or air conditioning. Our room was extremely hot and I would not stay there again. The breakfast was very poor - no expresso and the lemon in my tea was covered in crumbs. |

The hotel was beautiful as far as the common areas, but I did not feel the room should have a 5 star rating. I was not happy with the room, and ended up moving to the Glass house. No airconditioning, bed not comfortable, could hear the train all night. |

The only positive about the hotel is the location. Other than that I cant find anyting else that its worth giving credit for. I was really (and still am) really dissapointed and agree to some respect about the hotel & in relation to the price they charge. It is a big con!! The hotel is not as good as the pictures potrait. They have done a very good job of capturing (in the photos) only the positive. The room was extremely noisy. The room are small and very noisy. I had to wear earplugs every night. They only have one bar and one restaurant with very poor service. |

The hotel staff were superb which went some way to compensate for the quality of the room. The furniture and fittings were of a high standard, however the room was far too small to justify the cost. The room contains a magazine listing Scotlands top 100 hotels which includes "The Scotsman". Having stayed in a number of them, I can confirm that this hotel is not in the same league. |

The Scotsman Hotel was is a very lovely central hotel in edinburgh - staff were very inviting and friendly. Hotel room was clean and decor was nice. Bathroom was done to a very hight standard. The hotel bed could have been bigger (king size in all rooms) and the room was very hot (this was with the heating off aswell). |

Brilliant location in the middle of the city centre, with nice views. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Room is nice and large, and fitness/spa/swimming pool very large and complete. |
