We loved the location and the facilities
The room was too hot and could not be turned down. The bath was tiny and not good.
The bed was excellent as was the room. In a world of bad hotel beds The Scotsman shines.
The Wifi system doesn't work well and it's difficult to connect.
ask fraser the conciërge about the city. The young man is a walking history book!
The consiege was very informative and helpful. The location was excellent
Breakfast was pricey
Location, room was comfortable and clean.
Restaurant was a bit pricey. Spa was not fully functional and very dark.
The room; bed v comfortable; the pool and the service at check-in and out; the fantastic views from the bedroom window - overlooking the city.
Absolutely nothing. Thank you.
Location was excellent, the bellmen were first rate, overall a great hotel in a great city.
Excellent location and facilities. The concierge staff were extremely helpful and had excellent local knowledge.
Small reception area.
Staff very friendly, Room very nice, Location is just perfect.
Quality of the Wifi could be better The breakfast is very good, only a bit strange we had to wait to be seated at 9:30AM.
room to hot ,constant hum from rooftop machinery. room 606 overlooking small roof
Great welcome and personal care. Spacious room with a really comfortable bed and really well equipped.
Water pressure not very high, but adequate nonetheless.
Decor in room was a bit tired. Doors on wardrobe and mini bar were coming off the hinges. Toiletries were basic including toilet paper. One two finger pack of shortbread, how frugal can you get. Also a friend called and left a message we didn't get. For 5 star hotel my visit was a big disappointment.
Beautifully appointed public areas and spacious rooms, excellent speakers (including bathroom option) meant listening to Radio 3 was like being in a concert hall. Traffic noise from North Bridge was far more muted than I expected. Very good quality breakfast buffet. Lovely pool/spa area, but a little confusing to find - signage could be improved.
Trying to get radio on the TV was fiddly and some stations just didn't work. Perhaps the source is Freeview? (which currently means some stations drop out between 5pm and midnight, but if so, why no BBC Alba on the TV menu?)
Hotel is friendly and welcoming.
Nothing at all.
Pool large room friendly staff central location access to waverly train station
bed was too soft (preference thing)
Spa was good
Double bed had 2 single mattresses which was annoying no staff about for directions got lost an entered a few cleaning cupboards lookin for access to spa
Loved the privacy hatch for room service Unobtrusive service from very attentive staff Relaxation and indulgence on every level during stay
I had to leave and return home
Close to everything you need. Staff very polite and helpful. Spacious room with beautiful view.
I didn't like that the mattress felt like it was 60 years old and that the bed was basically 2 single ones just put together
A fine looking establishment with genuine quality staff. This was the real deal. Excellent rooms, extremely courteous and professional staff and a superb location.
If you are coming from the train station keep a lookout for the lift. We missed it and were condemned to a long tough set of steps.
Parking a little inconvenient but I am being pedantic here - it was a few minutes walk (although I was able to stop on North Bridge and unload outside the hotel) and for Edinburgh, great value.
La serviabilité, gentillesse professionnalisme du portier ! Il fait toute l'excellence de l'hôtel by himself.Thank you very much for your kindness high professional and disponibility the size of the room, the lights in the room, the pool, the location in old town
30 % réduction seulement sur le parking, le bruit des lourdes portes battantes dans les couloirs, vue sur la gare
Fire alarms when I arrived meant that I had to hoof it up the stairs instead ofthe elevator. Food in restaurant was overpriced.
Everything! From the warmest greeting to the room and pool. All fantastic. Thank you so much.
Faultless! Thank you again.
A quirky Gormenghast building enhances the effect of the spacious room's attributable tweed furnishings. With a lift down to Waverly station level for train travellers like us and Mr. Ivor Anderson's sterling assistance to the train. Superior guest lounges and wonderful restaurant. Right in the Royal Mile!
