Bed was comfy. Noise coming from outside of window all night from some sort of a/c equipment, very annoying! Waited ages for a member of staff to actually sit us down for breakfast, my husband had to go look for her so we could get some breakfast.

Hotel a disgrace. Room smelt very strongly of paint. Staff were surly, unapologetic and even denied there was a smell! Shower did not provide hot water.

Breakfast was great, super English with everything. First class service. The rooms were dated and need an upgrading The bathroom/toilet was tatty, toilet seat chipped, extractor did not work. Room was hot, with windows open it was noisy due to ventilation unit outside window. Only a thick duvet supplied, no sheets. All in all, a not so good stay. This used to be a classy hotel years ago.

nice comfy bed (a proper double, which makes a change from two singles pushed together) Spartan. Just because it's budget doesn't mean you can't put a cheap picture or two on the walls

We arrived at the hotel on the Friday, the following day we discovered a leak in the ceiling, the rain had been extremely heavy. We reported this to reception twice and nothing was done. However on reporting a third time to a different receptionist we were offered a change of room and a discount on the bill.Apart from this incident we were very happy with staff and facillities, the hotel could do with a bit of updating but it is clean, comfortable and an ideal location. The dining room is very nice, food good and service very good. When we discovered our room had a leak from the ceiling the receptionist on duty did nothing to help, when I am staying in a hotel I expect to feel valued. However when we reported it a third time to a different receptionist she was very helpful and did everything I would have expected, she offered us a change of room and a discount for the third night. We did not change rooms as the weather had improved and the leak cleared up but it was good to have the option.
