The location was perfect & staff were very friendly & helpful. I would stay there again.
I appreciate the hotel is old, but the hotel is looking a little tired. The grouting around the bath & tiles need replacing & the interiors could do with a new lick of paint.
Parking limited and extra cost even off site. No pool or spa makes it a tad expensive
The location and the building.
Very little atmosphere in the hotel. The breakfast, which you paid an excessive premium for was COLD and the rooms very small. The hotel bar had little choice of drinks! A poor experience.
Beautiful heritage building in a beautiful location Central to everything you would want to see.
Customer service could have been more friendly and family orientated. the bed was not as comfortable as I would have liked and the pillows were flat. Accor gold membership felt ignored at this property.
we liked this hotel because it is in the centre, the staff were pleasent and the breakfast was good. we will be back soon.
everything was good.
I love the wonkyness of the place, gives you so much of the feel of the age past. Wonderful people. We had a wonderful time.
Location Period Features Standard of rooms
The Marco restaurant
Man made pillows & duvet too hot for good sleep!
Everything is perfect at this hotel!
Breakfast was cold, Staff could not care attitude Always short of fried eggs, bacon etc. Had Eggs Royal only eat about a third, it was cold and eatable.
Location, atmosphere. Chocolate bar each day. Coffee facilities.
Dirty. (Bath mat) Dusty thought out . Breakfast service not good. Personal food orders bad. ( food arrived warm)
The location and the old building and its atmosphere
The parking arrangements.
Large rooms Quiet and central location Nice breakfast room Easy walk to theatres Loads of restaurants nearby
Convenient location and helpful staff
Lack of on site parking or drop off Public areas were unwelcoming. The building seemed sad and unloved. Food unappetising.
Location and friendliness of staff. Beautiful building.
Foam bedding, paying for hotel car parking. No cover to smoking area.
We liked the room and we enjoyed the seating area separate from the sleeping area. The bed was comfortable and being at the back of the old part of the hotel, the room was quiet.
The TV choices were limited. The water in the shower was too hot and we were unable to regulate it. Towels were replaced regardless of us opting to reuse them and one of the replacements was filthy!
Dark curtains for black out so could lie in Character charm of building Amazing location for sight seeing and so quiet despite its centrality
Very dark in reception sitting areas on a cloudy day so hard to read
We were given an upgrade on our room
The location is perfect, you also get a reduction in parking cost if you stay in the NCP car park
Lack of communication between booking . Com and the hotel
good for the location
breakfast self service not good bar prices costly car parking not good considering it was booked months ago
Beautiful historic building Stunning Place and ideal location
Tidy old rooms in need of major refurbishment. Dining room a big let down. Although requesting and emailing with confirmations not put in room I requested, a junior suite which had quite frankly seen a lot better days!!
friendly staff cultural loation
The location was good. The hotel is centrally located.
You know you're in trouble when the first thing you're asked is if you want to spend 20 pounds to upgrade to a better room. The room was cramped and the floors were slanted. They advertised that there was parking available on the premises, but when we arrived "the parking was full," so we had to drive to a parking garage. There were stains on the carpet. At breakfast, my husband asked for scrambled eggs and was told that the scrambled eggs were at the buffet and he could get them there. There were only poached eggs on the buffet.
Location was fantastic, staff were friendly & very helpful & a beautiful building & room!
