Great location for Theatre Excellent helpful staff Well appointed bathroom
Room rather small
Complimentary upgrade offered to us by the friendly staff, hotel was clean and very comfortable!
New Year meal was excellent.
Two single beds pushed together.
Had to ask for coffee and toast at breakfast by it's ok the staff were busy
Great atmosphere, excellent location for shopping, eating/drinking and just around the corner from the RSC Theatre and the river Avon.
The location. Some of the staff. Comfy sofas.
TV did not work. No one cared. Room was far too hot. No one cared. No shower cap. I was told when I was dresses that they have loads in reception. Not a lot of use when you are bare in the bathroom. Room and corridor pretty shabby. No wine list in the bar. Had to stare at the bottles to make a choice and guess at the price. V expensive choice.
When we got in at midnight we discovered the room had no heating and the room was draughty because of the original windows. There were no spare portable heaters, and we moved rooms in the middle of the night. The second room was fine.
Location Nice bathroom
Old-fashioned gloomy bedroom
Excellent rate for advance booking. Quality rooms in a stunning building. Great breakfast choices.
It always irks me to pay to use a hotel car park when you're staying there. (The charge is clear on the booking page however).
Cozy rooms, well decorated and furnished
Bathroom was cold and worn
Place run with quiet efficiency. No-one was "in our face". Very pleasant experience.
Limited car parking spaces, but well-compensated by a voucher to cut 2/3 off the charges at a local NCP.
The look and location of hotel was great.
The hotel couldn't find our booking. The bed and pillars were hard and the room was cold even with heating on.
Nice styling, great location but hot water in the shower wasnt great..
Shower wasnt very hot, staff didnt try to help, parking was expensive.
Most of the staff were helpful Comfortable. Ideally situated for theatre and restaurants
Initial reception unfortunate. Receptionist not present and others were also waiting. Inadequate information provided reluctantly.
We were happy with the Room and had excellent breakfasts. It was quite noisy on the night a Conference stayed in the Hotel about 3.30 am
We did not like having an extra £25 per night taken off our credit card. As we only had 2 nights parking we were owed £55 rebate but this will apparently take a few days to appear in our account. We have never paid a surcharge in any hotel in the world and will probably not stay in a Mercure Hotel again for that reason. We had a problem with the parking when a conference turned up en masse and we had to park in a Multi -Story about 10 mins away for the last night
Very well placed for the theatre and other sights. Good breakfast.
Bed was really uncomfortable - think the mattress predated Shakespeare!! Car park was full and although the receptionist told me where to park, she forgot to mention that we could have a voucher which would save us money - we could have paid £4.50 for local NCP car park but ended up having to pay £13 as we weren't given a voucher!
Convenient central location for theatre. Good sized bedroom. Very friendly staff. V. Good breakfast. Value for money.
Noisy due to exit doors slamming closed. Very uncomfy pillows. Bed on last legs. Annex accommodation rather dated.
Friendly atmosphere, quiet, log fire, excellent beds.
A small point: the background music; maybe either gentle classic or discreet jazz better than the slightly jarring pop?
Good central location. Lovely downstairs, old world atmosphere. Polite, helpful staff. Comfortable room, good breakfast.
Room on smaller side but ok.
it is a central hotel. we like to be in the centre if we can.
The bed was small in the room and the bathroom was cold it only had a heated towel rail in the bathroom and this was not enough the bathroom was freezing, it needs a radiator in there,
central for stratford, parked the car 2nights did not need to use it. hotel was very clean, good service.breakfast was good; service in the breakfast room was good. would still go back there.many restaurants to eat in
room 302 at the back hotel very noisey with the central heating going on and off all night. when I booked in September they took my money from account straight away, which they said I would not have to pay until arrived on dec 31st 2014, very disappointed.stayed over the new year, got back to the hotel to see new year inn, no tv on the bar area, not celebration for customers not in the marco peirre restaurant. very disappointed.
Booked a mini suite, very dated, no coffee machine, mini bar empty, no sofa, room slightly bigger than normal but not a suite by an means
the bedroom was lovely, hotel full of history.
Restaurant style, because we didn't like it we didn't use it.
Comfortable bed, beamed old character room ,modern bathroom, good free Wifi in room. Lovely breakfast.
Bar tender often elsewhere had to give up and head for bed. Stayed last year same time and loved the lit fires ...this year only one fire lit for a short time. Chilly far breakfast room ask for a table in the first section near the food bar.
