Great location, friendly accommodating staff
Breakfast not great
Location except for loading and unloading.
Bad beds small rooms <eventhough expected> lacking the quality and comfort we received in continental europe at the same or higher pricing.A Bite of a disappointment.
The room smelled strongly of damp.
My husband has difficulty walking so a place in the carpark being reserved near the door was an enormous help. Stratford is on the flat so he found it relatively easy to visit all the Shakespeare houses was a bonus.
Our bed was so piled up with mattresses he found it almost impossible to get into bed!
When we arrived the room we were given was not what we had booked as our room was not ready. After a brief conversation with the gentleman on reception and after I explained I was planning to propose, he changed the room to what we were originally booked. And my girlfriend is now my fiancé... I would highly recommend this hotel. And the staff we amazingly efficient. Breakfast was nice. Great selection.
Well situated for everything you want/need. Staff were lovely, room inc bathroom really nice, breakfast good and later check-out time of 12pm saved a panic in the morning, had time for a last wander round. Would definitely recommend.
Could have done with breakfast being available slightly later but not enough of a problem to cause criticism.
Excellent location for RSC. Good value for money
Nothing-apart from £10 parking fee!!
Friendliness of the staff
No leisure facilites
The hotel is quirky and reflects the age in which it was built. The availability of off-street parking was an added bonus.
There wasn't anything that we didn't like.
Only minor complaint was lack of parking. Hey ho.
Very close to RSC theater, very comfortable. Dog friendly and nice.
Not all too quiet with other guests giving a wake up call or bump in the morning.
We were only there for one night and check out was at 12 noon, therefore a bit unsure why housekeeping came into our room at 9am and 11:30am?
Friendly staff, lovely ambience and lots of comfy public spaces.
Our 'double' room was extremely cramped. Worst of all was that it was so cold. We were given a convector heater and eventually the radiators came on but the bathroom remained cold. Very disappointing.
Excellent location really nice hotel excellent outside seating area.
Comfortable and historic
Limited parking Food in marco's restaurant was mediocre and overpriced
Nice place to stay, lovely staff, food and room up to scratch.
The floor was very squeaky up the hall on the first floor, we were in room 136 for 3 nights, we heard everyone who walked up there. We could hear the guest up above us as well, starting around 5.30. We are early risers as well, so not impressed.
Atmosphere Character Location
The location was perfect & staff were very friendly & helpful. I would stay there again.
I appreciate the hotel is old, but the hotel is looking a little tired. The grouting around the bath & tiles need replacing & the interiors could do with a new lick of paint.
Parking limited and extra cost even off site. No pool or spa makes it a tad expensive
The location and the building.
Very little atmosphere in the hotel. The breakfast, which you paid an excessive premium for was COLD and the rooms very small. The hotel bar had little choice of drinks! A poor experience.
Central location,staff very helpful
Paying £10 per day to park in hotel car park ,total rip off
The attitude of the staff at breakfast was disappointing- i was told i could not have the bacon well cooked, they did not clear dishes, we were not offered hot coffee or more toast. it was disappointing as the food itself was good. The welcome on arrival was abrupt and not particularly welcoming. Bar rather expensive considering the number of pubs near the location
The building. A stunning piece of history in a fantastic location. Really nice bar area and rooms (we had junior suites) were a good size. Impressive array of toiletries.
Hotel car park was full and it took me and my guests a while to figure out the various one way systems to find the NCP car park (where the hotel has a discounted rate).
Beautiful heritage building in a beautiful location Central to everything you would want to see.
Customer service could have been more friendly and family orientated. the bed was not as comfortable as I would have liked and the pillows were flat. Accor gold membership felt ignored at this property.
we liked this hotel because it is in the centre, the staff were pleasent and the breakfast was good. we will be back soon.
everything was good.
