ambience in bar & restaurant
Dirty shower broken shower door old soap left in shower soap dish after previous guest noise despite requesting quiet room (ventilation from laundry and kitchen)
Location friendly staff
Breakfast was from 7·30 and I needed breakfast at 7am Reception told me someone would be in restaurant at 7 to supply tea and cereal Door was locked and so I had to leave without breakfast
In a 'nutshell' the whole experience staying at the Ship & Trades was a very good one. Very good location, good food and staff more than willing to help in anyway they can.
Stay in room 3 - One of the first rooms to the corridor to all the rooms. Being at the beginning of teh corridor puts you next to the store rooms, entrance doors. This can lead to a noisy environment.
Luckily the distance to my next meeting was less than 5 miles.
It was shocking to receive a plate with withered rucola salad. Even my remark on it, did not ring a bell with the management. No excuses came. I should have taken a picture and put it on the net. The bed was so tired I could not get a decent sleep in it.
Perfect location for days out in the area
We booked a 2 night stay for bed & breakfast on the 24th and 25th December and when we arrived at about 7.30 in the evening to sign in were confronted with the news that there would be no breakfast in the morning as it was Christmas Day. Fortunately at such short notice on Christmas Eve we were able to find room in a proper hotel
Water views, excellent breakfast.
Surrounds too industrialised.
All the little extras that were there as standard. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and staff were excellent
Bathroom was looking a little tired and the door handle to the room came off in my hand. The wardrobe hanging rail was very low making it difficult to hang things up.
Good quality bedding. Quiet
Need binds or sheer curtains at windows for privacy
Stayed here many times when down this end of the country visiting family. Lovely location and it's always sunny!
Location and Friendly staff and room where very clean and are was good but cold. Would stay there again
Bar was cold, ask staff to turn up the heating. The evening meal was good except my wife had to send her chicken dish back little meat and lots of bones, At breakfast waited fifty minutes for breakfast which was ok. Considering only eleven rooms it was a long time to wait.
Stayed at Ships and Trades before , as usual the standard was excellent, staff helpful and cheerful, bedrooms stylish , modern and clean, the price included breakfast , a great choice of dishes including full english which was excellent.
Sticky floors and tables
Friendly staff in hotel and in bar and restaurant area. Location great for purpose of our stay. Great choice of breakfast items.
Limited restaurant and bar menu. Sliding door to bathroom stiff.
No food availalbe after 8pm - I arrvied at 7:55pm. This was the second time this has happened at this hotel.
Very clean and comfortable mattress
Perfect for attending a function in medway. Great outlook. Easily accessible.
A 'homely' hotel, nice tasteful decor, pleasant surroundings and, best of all, very personable, friendly and helpful staff.
Good position Room not large but adequate for a short stay Food in pub very good food and well kept beer Lovely breakfast with views over the river and boats
Only problem we had was in getting a taxi. The driver had no knowledge of area and wouldn't use sat nav. we ended up telling him where to go with our phone!!
Nothing to dislike
The lovely view over the Marina, the friendly and efficient staff and the excellent 'freshly cooked' breakfast.
The location was good with excellent views from the restaurants and bar. The breakfast was also really good
"Staff shortages" meant that the restaurant had a very limited range, and stopped serving at 8:00pm. The room was not in the best state of repair, and the carpet could have done with a good hoovering. The room heating didn't work. Although the hotel provided a heater, I had to ask for it even though the staff knew there were problems with the heating in that room.
Excellent decor, delicious breakfast, friendly staff and comfortable accommodation
Flooring in bathroom
Breakfast was fine
Rather brusquely being asked for full payment on arrival. Having to go back upstairs to dining room to check out as reception not manned. Did not see a sign about this while taking breakfast.
