Comfortable room and good food
Rather noisy it would have been nice to have a residents lounge
The room had nice views and was comfortable
the shower wasn't very nice, the food wasn't very good value and wasn't that nice, the fish was very greasy and the portions very small
Your staff were most helpful. Top marks to them. Give them a pay rise.....
Bed was a tad hard for us oldies.
This is the second time we've stayed because it's in an ideal location for where we wanted to be.
The food and service were disappointing especially as it was Valentine's Day and not even a rose for the ladies! The wine wasn't even opened for us and the first bottle was 'off'! Expected better as we'd enjoyed good food when we stayed last October.
OK clean inside ,breakfast ok
bit noisy ,needs outside area cleaning cig buts ,empty cig packets ,ect
Very helpful staff breakfast lovely and rooms clean and spacious
Rooms are tired and need decorating especially the barhrooms but everwhere is clean
Location and value x breakfast was fabulous such value for money x
Wi fi didn't work, no bath mat and anti slip mat too dirty to use. Breakfast too early for Sunday so we missed it, should be later.
Excellent breakfast; great value all round.
Nothing, although mattress toppers would add comfort.
Everything I needed was there
It didn't affect me but if I was more than 6 feet tall the fixed head shower would be too low
We know the marina having moored a boat there in the past. It's a nice spot especially when the sun shines. Our room looked over water and you could see part of the marina/boats etc. Room was quite basic but comfortable, though a bit frayed around the edges. Breakfast was very good indeed. Staff we encountered were fine.
More attention is needed by the hotel on maintaining the rooms or they will continue to deteriorate. A shame as you can tell that a great deal of thought was put into the original re-design/refurb. However for what we wanted it was more than adequate.
Clean linen and towels and nice bathroom
Empty reception they could do with a bell as the staff work in various areas
ambience in bar & restaurant
Dirty shower broken shower door old soap left in shower soap dish after previous guest noise despite requesting quiet room (ventilation from laundry and kitchen)
Location friendly staff
Breakfast was from 7·30 and I needed breakfast at 7am Reception told me someone would be in restaurant at 7 to supply tea and cereal Door was locked and so I had to leave without breakfast
In a 'nutshell' the whole experience staying at the Ship & Trades was a very good one. Very good location, good food and staff more than willing to help in anyway they can.
Stay in room 3 - One of the first rooms to the corridor to all the rooms. Being at the beginning of teh corridor puts you next to the store rooms, entrance doors. This can lead to a noisy environment.
Luckily the distance to my next meeting was less than 5 miles.
It was shocking to receive a plate with withered rucola salad. Even my remark on it, did not ring a bell with the management. No excuses came. I should have taken a picture and put it on the net. The bed was so tired I could not get a decent sleep in it.
Perfect location for days out in the area
We booked a 2 night stay for bed & breakfast on the 24th and 25th December and when we arrived at about 7.30 in the evening to sign in were confronted with the news that there would be no breakfast in the morning as it was Christmas Day. Fortunately at such short notice on Christmas Eve we were able to find room in a proper hotel
Water views, excellent breakfast.
Surrounds too industrialised.
All the little extras that were there as standard. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and staff were excellent
Bathroom was looking a little tired and the door handle to the room came off in my hand. The wardrobe hanging rail was very low making it difficult to hang things up.
Good quality bedding. Quiet
Need binds or sheer curtains at windows for privacy
Stayed here many times when down this end of the country visiting family. Lovely location and it's always sunny!
Location and Friendly staff and room where very clean and are was good but cold. Would stay there again
Bar was cold, ask staff to turn up the heating. The evening meal was good except my wife had to send her chicken dish back little meat and lots of bones, At breakfast waited fifty minutes for breakfast which was ok. Considering only eleven rooms it was a long time to wait.
Stayed at Ships and Trades before , as usual the standard was excellent, staff helpful and cheerful, bedrooms stylish , modern and clean, the price included breakfast , a great choice of dishes including full english which was excellent.
