Score from 305 reviews Very good
Location, quality room, mariner views, good food & drink.
Lovely old building beautifully restored. Everything on hand for the busy business traveller.
Excellent location for visiting the historic dockyard and Medway towns Ease of access to the motorway network. The 'pub' below the rooms provides excellent and reasonably priced food.
Small, 'cluttered' bedroom and en-suite..No shelf/cupboard for toiletries. Noise from the pub and supermarket adjoining the rooms
Position of hotel, ease of checking in & out.Breakfast was excellent.Bar was very good but was unable to bring my 2 week old Granddaughter into the bar for the family to have a nightcap together but understand the rules.Room was good but I would of liked a bath and wind was blowing through the secondry double glazing .Tea,coffee & chocolate in room was excellent.
wind blowing through secondry glazing and no bath in our room.
Stayed last weekend after being recommended. Was an excellent location for the family event we were attending. Enjoyable food and good atmosphere in the bar.
There is a constant hum that we were told was the air-con. It didn't disturb us but some people might need ear plugs to get to sleep!
Nice place, nice quiet location, good bar with good beer..! Ample parking for any vehicle, and a convenience store 50yds away if you forget anything....
Only had a shower in my room, only thing I can fault (and that's at a push)
Same as always, great building good location.
No menus at breakfast only hot option mentioned was full English. Noseperate toast offered until almost finished
Twin room near generator/fan very noisy couldn't see out of window, bathroom door hard to shut, not very clean. Hard small beds.
Conveniently situated about 8 minutes walk from Chatham Dockyard. Very comfortable room and good breakfast. Good restaurants/diners within 5 minutes walk.
We arrived at 11.00 knowing that we would not be able to get into our room. However, it was only by luck that the front doors were open and we could speak to someone on reception. Otherwise, we would not have known how to enter the building. Due to "staff shortage" dinner was only being served until 8.00. However, this was not a problem as there were plenty of good restaurants within five minutes' walk.
Quirky and comfortable rooms..
Road side rooms above a very busy car park, co op store and chip shop. Noisy. It's was humid and had to open windows
Nice setting. Convenient to buses & the drivers were all very helpful. Breakfast & other food was good. Staff were very warm and friendly.
We booked 5 rooms as several of us were attending a weddings nearby, they let us have 1 room early to drop off our bags & get ready Free wifi was good Nice decor Breakfast prompt & good range
Friendly staff nice atmosphere
Everything...Simple as that.
There was absolutely nothing l did not dislike. Everything was superb from the room l stayed in, to the excellent choice of beers at the bar downstairs.
Well located near Chatham historic dockyard and The Dickens Experience with pleasant marina alongside. Good breakfast and well appointed rooms.
Windows high up so no views.
Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable room.
Difficult to find.
The staff all very friendly & helpful. The restaurant food was very good. Breakfast was delicious. Nice comfortable room. Would stay here again.
Nothing negative to say at all.
Location, easy parking, breakfast was ample and good. Staff helpful and friendly.
Not being to get wifi !!
Good location and room.Excellent breakfasts, evening menu ok.
The staff, decor, food, room & location.
Couldn't get the wifi to work but to be fair I could have called reception for assistance.
Breakfast and bath and shower
Nice hotel and good facilities BUT marred by poor service from staff.
No reply to email sent the day before. Unable to contact hotel by phone on morning of check in. Phoned at least 7 times in the space of an hour but no answer. Wasn't told at check-in that the restaurant was closing earlier than normal - lucky I still had time for a meal but could have missed out eating if I'd been later. Staff told about above points - expected a better response than I got. The above shows a rather cavalier attitude to guests which will affect any decision on my part to choose this hotel in the future
Character, room, location and pleasant staff..
Breakfast service a bit slow, perhaps Monday and eight of us ordering at the same time ? But when it arrived it was good !
The comfort of the bed left a lot to be desired.
Location , shop ( co-op ) & takeaway next door . Food available in pub . Decor in restaurant . Buses every 10 minutes, from mall to Rochester . Nice walk round St. Mary's Island . Parking. Friendly staff .
