The hotel is set on the site of an original house dating back to the late 17th Century. Rebuilt in the 1850s is was extensively refurbished in Edwardian times and became a hotel in 1932.

The 16 room , 3 star hotel has the elegance and relaxed atmosphere that one would expect of an Edwardian country house. The hotel has the largest ballroom in the district and several function rooms and is a popular venue for both social and business occasions. The hotel is surrounded by 1 acre of lawns and shrubberies.

The restaurant is the original Edwardian Dinning room and retains many original feactures.
