The Falcon Hotel5-7 Falconers Square, YO11 2EJ Scarborough (Show map) Pleasant, Score from 66 reviews“Good value for money in a great location.Very pleasent and helpful lady on reception.”
Ashley,
Harrogate
Located in the center of town, only minutes away from the beach, train station and main attractions, the hotel is set within a Grade II listed historic building. Welcoming guests all year-round, whether it's for a short break, vacation or business trip, the hotel is the ideal base for your stay in Scarborough. Within walking distance are The Stephen Joseph Theater, Spa Complex and the center of town, as well as a Shopping Center, Cricket Ground and Bowling Center. Although the hotel's central location means that they are close to the main road route around Scarborough, it is fortunate to be set back on a small grassy square. Hotel Rooms: 14

The best thing about the Falcon is its location and price (though I had a special offer). It is basic and clean. The breakfast was good. Receptionist friendly. No-one was there when I arrived to let me in, neither did they respond initially to my phoning the mobile number left on the door, so I was left unable to check in and sat outisde for about 15 minutes waiting. I went away and tried a couple of hours later and thankfully someone rang me back, but it was rather disconcerting to say the least. (Lady said she'd gone out to get provisions). It's a well worn hotel in need of refurbishment (eg windows and cills), as are so many in UK today. Felt the owners tried to make the best of it but probably lack funds. My room was not ensuite. Seagulls seemed to be active all through the night so ear plugs were useful - luckily I take mine everywhere! If you can cope with the above it's near the sea front and adequate.

Its location Dirty , flys everywhere, very small rooms, no toilets or showers in 2 of the rooms, and the 3rd room bathroom tiny.

Friendly and pleasant staff. Situated in a good area close to shops and beach. Could be noisy at night due to close proximity of bar/club outside But this is not the hotels problem

The staff were nice and friendly. The hotel lacks double glazing so the outside noise was disturbing through the night with seagulls from 3 am and the hotel itself could benefit from some upgrades. Beds were really uncomfortable.

The location of the Hotel was excellent for us,easy to walk to shops or beach or local entertainment. The room was clean. The breakfast was good,we would stay there again. The hotel would benefit from an upgrade,ie double glazing,& it was a bit dated, but this did not detract from our overall stay.

Nothing Hotel has seen better days and now needs freshening up, but that is unlikely to happen, the room we were allocated was 'a family room' god help the family that get that room Would definately not return to this hotel.

Looks run down, in need of refurbishment. It was supposed to be a Deluxe Room in our opinion it fell far short of what we would call Deluxe! Very average would be more like it.

Staff very friendly and welcoming. As I had not used this site before, I rang the hotel a couple of days beforehand to confirm that my booking had been received. The person who answered found it immediately so they have an efficient booking system. Location good - very near sea, a restaurant next door. Poor maintenance. In the bedroom sink the whole hot tap moved when turned on! Turning off either of the taps in the bathroom was a challenge. The glass shelf in the bathroom fell down. The bedside lamp didn't work. That was put right - the bulb just needed changing -but surely that should have been checked? Also, very little storage space. For two days this was not a problem, but it would be for a longer stay and more luggage.

Location Room dirty and cables lying around on floor. Bed was uncomfortable and the building is generally shabby, but does have potential if one invested. Part-time reception hours are inconvenient especially as the phone doesn't divert to a human either.

Just got back from the Falcon;wheather was great, the hotel not so;we stayed in what they called a de-luxe room daren,t think what the other rooms were like!If you dont want any sleep coz of the seagulls day and night and noisy kids next door, then this is the place for you!Theres a pub right next door and its ideally placed for the town centre.,which was a good thing as the hotel bar and restaurant were closed,we weren,t made aware of this at the time of booking! However we enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel and never had to wait long. Didnt feel very welcoming on arrival, didnt smell too clean, quite noisy at night, and no shower in the bathroom just a tap attachment on the bath, which you couldnt have had anyway coz it was a struggle to get hot water!Icame here for a rest and comfort after suffering an injury ,but got neither.

The hotel seemed to be run down, cleanliness a lot to be desirted. Breakfast had limited choice, unable to take correct orders due to language difficulties. Would have expected larger portions that offered.

Location was excellent for all amenities. Staff were friendly, breakfast ok. Room needed to be refurbished - only one electric socket worked, lights took ages to get to full power, window blind broken, tv didn't work properly (I mentioned this at time but it couldn't be fixed). Also, timing of breakfast was, for me, too late a start at 8.00am.
