The breakfast was very well cooked and very well presented .
The bar not being open after 9
very friendly place; Grant made us very welcome. Room was very well equipped and the refreshments were excellent. Breakfast buffet was amazing and cooked menu very extensive all served by friendly staff.
No view from our room which was slightly claustrophobic however we were only staying 1 night over a Bank Hol weekend.
All the little extras and the ecceptional breakfast
The bedding was much too warm for a hot summer's night
The room layout, location and breakfast
The lack of air conditioning
Love the Somerville, attention to detail, immaculately clean (not even any dust on the picture frames). Particularly impressed with the restaurant reviews and tourist info, breakfast was excellent offering everything you could possibly want!! We have even been converted to organic food (especially milk). Will most definitely be returning :)
Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent
Everything. Great small friendly very well run B&B. So much though has gone into providing everything you might need. Breakfast top quality ingredients well presented. Felt like nothing was too much trouble. We were made most welcome, will definitely stay here again.
Location and Food
Noise and uncomfortable sofa
For a last minute booking I was completely taken by surprise I honestly didn't think that it would be anything special and I'm glad I was wrong. Booked in late and the manager was willing to stay up to let me check in, he gave me the guided tour not the disgruntled trollop you usually get for keeping them up late. The room itself had a touch of homely elegance with every amenity you would need on a holiday with decent teas & hot chocolates to drink at night and comfortable dressing gowns to squeeze into after lathering yourself up with the lavish soaps (and bath salts!) after having enjoyed a nice day out. The breakfast in the morning was fabulous I couldn't fault it, was like being back at home as a child having your family cook for you it was delicious and there was a decent spread on the continental breakfast side of things. I hope I can find another excuse to come back to Torquay because the hard part of finding a hotel to stay in that you know you will enjoy has been taken care of with only the holiday left to enjoy. Without a doubt I've travelled half way around the world in many high class hotels and this is a gem and will be back to stay here in the future !
Some of the fixtures came loose. In the shower one of the handles that adjusted the shower came off in my hand. The paint wasn't completely flush around the fire alarm on the ceiling in the bathroom.
Great room very comfortable fresh milk hospitality.
Very good b+b,staff were excellent and would recommend a stay here to see how nice it is. : )
Bed a bit too soft for our liking, cool in bedroom at night due to heating turned off but radiator provided and no bedroom door so open plan to entry door, other than these brilliant place to stay.
The outside roof garden and he quirkyness plus the nice little touches like cakes and cookies as you come in.
Wonky floor in the bathroom
Fabulous bijoux hotel, with great attention to detail. Very close to the town. Own was very pleasant and charming.
Great location and wonderful food. Best breakfast we had in our entire trip. Our host, Adam, is a perect host. He made us feel welcome, provided all the local information we needed, and was wonderful just to converse with. My husband and I would definitely return to this B&B on a return trip.
We didn't find fault with anything.
Very attentive owners from the word go ! Lovely comfortable bed and all you could ask for at breakfast . Nothing was too much trouble .
Breakfast was excellent. Bed comfortable.
The room was a junior suite and advertised as spacious, it certainly was not. The bedroom was small. We had to put our luggage in the lounge room. Overpriced for the size of suite
I like everything about the Somerville
I cant think of anything this time but will think about it on my next visit.
Everything. Both loved it.
Great location just 10 minutes walk to town, with lots of good restaurants nearby. Real attention to detail from the proprietors such as free cakes and brownies for tea, fresh milk that can be taken to room for tea/coffee, lovely toiletries in the bathroom, huge fluffy towels, waffle dressing gowns provided and absolutely superb breakfasts using fantastic local produce.
everything about the somerville is superb ,we could not fault anything . The guys give this place the special touch and more.
A beautiful gem !
Attitude and friendly approach of the staff. Modern and well appointed rooms
Nothing to fault
Everything was great, will be back
