Staff were friendly and helpful Spa facilities were delightful
Room service breakfast was freezing and really poor quality Room had wet walls... curious experience
Very small rooms. Old hotel. Noisy (a lot of Russians) and the hotel stinks in the morning (eggs and bacon). No friendly staff and bad English speaking staff. Shower very small.
Beds were very comfortable and beautiful gardens. The dinner at the bistro restaurant that was some of best food I've had in a long time although was very pricey wines list. Clean and great kids section to.
Where do I start. The staff were rude abrupt especially the breakfast staff who need training on etiquette and manners ASAP. Before I had even say down for breakfast u was being given asked my breakfast choice and was then promptly ignored for rest of morning . Coffee was foul clearly cheap instant, eggs were watery and cheap sausages. For such a grand room shame breakfast was totally lacklustre. My bedroom stank of cigarettes and so we asked to be moved but room we received was considerably smaller but they still wanted include same price so we stayed in smelly damp bedroom. Staff throughout were unhelpful especially to my small child and overall experience terribke. This is an expensive hotel. Damp dingy and need updating. Staff rude abrupt . And all this whilst paying London prices. Terrible
We were surprised that a four star hotel closed its dining room on a Monday
Tor,on reception, was pleasant and helpful.
Excruciating bed in room number 3
Lovely clean room, and quiet
Decor was slightly dated.
Unable to have spa treatments as fully booked weeks before visit.
Hotel was clean & staff pleasant & efficient.
Hotel was a little dated in decor. When entering hotel lounge at reception, there seemed to be lots of people milling about, having business meetings, people in & out to spa, an auction going on etc. We found this rather off putting.
Four post bed,uncomfortable
The staff to check us in were so welcoming and polite, and ran through all the facilities. Our room was perfect, with a very clever extra door between the bedroom and corridor. We ate in the brasserie in the evening and enjoyed the food. The next morning we used the gym, which was fully stocked. All in all a very enjoyable afternoon and evening away.
Lobby and general atmosphere. Near the Pantiles.
I feel it trades on its name. The room was small and not especially special. Felt that it wasn't particularly good value.
Nice spacious rooms with comfortable beds.
That breakfast wasn't included!
clean fresh spacious room with very comfy bed
price of breakfast when what was on offer was unremarkable
The hotel could improve the WiFi connection
Nice location to. The town in a lovely setting.
Hotel rather tired. Neither a boutique hotel nor a high star quality.
Nice building and rooms.
Consistently poor service on multiple visits staying there on business. Slow check-in, slow and poor quality breakfast if it ever arrives. Waited 40 minutes in the morning for an iron that never arrived. Inexcusably poor all round.
Very comfortable room with good facilities. Food was good if over priced
There was a lot of noise coming from the plumbing and on my second night I got very little sleep as there were intermittent noises coming from above my room sounded like a door being opened and closed, could have been the lift.
the hotel was set in beautiful grounds
the hotel definately needs updating and is a little old fashioned
Good location. Friendly staff.
Room on 3rd floor we stayed in was a bit tired looking. Came back around 10.30pm on a Sunday evening went to have a night cap in bar but it was all locked up!
Very warm and welcoming reception. We liked the size, décor and comfort of the rooms. We had a problem with a flood in our room when we returned to it late in the evening it was dealt with very quickly and we were moved to a grander room which was a great gesture and offset our inconvenience.
I was berated by a waitress at breakfast for having the audacity sit down at a table before giving my room number which I didn't appreciate in a 4 star hotel ( the restaurant manager did apologise though) The waiting staff at breakfast were downbeat and looked irritated if you asked for anything extra.
Setting and standard of rooms and facilities.
Everything apart from room location
Bedroom located too close to boiler making the room hot, stuffy and noisy (208)
Beautiful building and gardens
Disorganised staff as in managers not the poor foreign workers who were running round like scalded cats. Managers undermining the competance of the staff Paper thin walls hearing next room use bathroom :-(
Staffed by kids who clearly had no idea of what 4* service should be. Over priced and tired.
