Excellent service and food in the bistro
Smallish room, noisy
The size of the room
We liked the restaurant and the food was superb. The room and bed were also excellent. Generally a top hotel.
We couldn't get spa treatments except for very early in the morning. The point of going to a spa hotel is just that. However we do realise it was a bank holiday weekend and maybe we should have booked them in advance.
The old world atmosphere. The one meal I had was excellent.
Practically same price as Premier Inn (in Tonbridge) but so much better-swimming pool, spa, dressing gowns. Lovely spacious rooms with toiletries. Will come again.
Courteous staff friendly environment clean and comfortable
the shower curtain round the narrow bath tended to wrap itself around the person taking a shower!!
menu not the best also expensive for what was on offer .
Leaving a day early
Rooms have no air conditioning and with windows open ...I was bombarded with smell from the kitchen extractor fans blowing fried fish stench in my room. Asked for a fan...couple of times...eventually got one. Admittedly, not one of my better stays.
Over all the hotel very good, and staff very helpful,
not at all happy with hand basin water very slow to run away, pillows hard and lumpy, as I was in room 115 was kept awake by young folk leaving there party very drunk shouting crying and been sick not a good end to my 3 days ,and not what I would expect from a hotel of your type
Great location and spacious, beautiful room - very comfortable, and stylishly old fashioned.Very Tunbridge Wells - highly recommended.
room was good and very clean
laundry delivery outside our room at 6.00am.!
Classic Hotel. Great Staff many of which are young well trained and well mannered.
Internet connectivity poor.
Comfortable, staff very helpful, lovely breakfast, very nice building, lots of character.
Wifi very slow on the 3rd floor (so bad that the signal kept dropping out altogether). Didn't have to use it much fortunately.
The rooms were comfortable.
The breakfast was too expensive for what you got, Waiters not knowing what table to take the breakfast too ( not his fault) the ones above him. Cold toast, coffee too strong even though I had asked for weak, the tea like dish water.
Staff were very helpful and most attentive. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel has a peaceful and relaxing feel to it. Food was excellent especially the afternoon tea. Leisure facilities are very good though the pool a bit small.
Although the bedroom was absolutely beautiful and the bathroom very spacious there was no air conditioning which made it difficult to sleep or spend time enjoying the room.
Good night sleep
The price Dated rooms Small bed
Needed somewhere to stay on way to Hastings, booked online and arrived 15 minutes later. Spacious room, comfy beds, used the pool for a quick dip.
Abit out of town
Cooked breakfast was poor. One rasher of bacon! One Sausage and one egg.
The Hotel has good facilities, nice dining room and park, although we did not have a chance to explore every thing. We can just seat on the lobby after a day out and have a cup of tea.
The creaking noise on the floor, and the quality of bed sheets they use.
Room was good.
Disappointed that restaurant was closed for dinner. View of passing traffic from Bistro was unpleasant.
The food was excellent. Smart appearance.
Some of the staff didn't speak good English. Difficulty in ordering drinks. Paid for a premium room. Not as good as I expected based on photos.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and although the room needed redecoration they compensated us by offering another room plus free breakfast for my husband and I for two nights. We weren't able to change rooms due to time constraints in our side so they put a bottle of chilled champagne in our room. Nice touch
The room was too small and considering it cost £180 per night we could have benefitted from some more space.
