The fact I could leave.
Everything from staff to cleanliness. My grapefruit juice at breakfast was warmer than my eggs and hair from previous customer all over bathroom. Shower had no pressure whatsoever.
Lovely staff and great location for the things we wanted to do ! Lovely clean comfy beds !
Sadly visit was ruined by other guests having a fight in the hotel ! Hotel has also seen better days and is a little run down BUT beds were very comfy and bathrooms clean !
The location is great Marlin centre 4 min walk - our party was at the Juniper Berry Pub .. 2 mins away ... Watched the Rugby at Oasis Bar ... 2 mins away ... Ate dinner at Ranchos ... Guess wot ... 2 min away ! .. perfect !
The Hotel Bar wasnot open during the day at all over the weekend , so it was luck that there were other bars nearby !
Very happy with our stay. Is as described. Very close to town centre and if you looked out the window you can see it. Staff were very friendly and very helpful even before we booked the hotel as phoned them up.
The hotel is quite dated and the walls were very thin, we could hear next doors TV with our own tv on. the hotel doesn't look very nice from the outside but it's completely different on the inside.
Room outdated , very uncomfortable bed
hotel better inside then looks from the outside and lovely breakfast
chair in room was dirty and dusty
The 2 double beds in are room
The latch switch nearly blew up when pressed
Good price. Central location. Plenty of eateries and pubs and fast food within a short walk from hotel.
Surprise car parking fee. Smallish car park.
Although an old building it was comfortable and well the rooms well decorated and maintained.
We liked the fact the hotel was soo close to the town center! Made life easy
We didn't find anything we weren't happy with! we found no problem with the hotel or staff,
Location. Cosy room. History of the place. Nice breakfast.
Drilling outside at 11.30pm and 7am. Bad smell in bathroom of chemicals. Rotting bathroom window frame. Mould on window. Dodgy shower door. Weak shower. Would have liked fruit available for breakfast. Parking not mentioned on website as first come first served.
The location is very good. The room is large and classical. The bed is clean. Personally I like the style from inside of the building.
The pub across the street was noisy over night until 4AM in the weekend.
Very central for the shops
Excellent location on the High Street. The staff were, without exception, friendly and so welcoming. I stayed 3 nights as I had 2 gigs to play and was very happy with my private bathroom, kettle and TV. Hotel reception was manned 24/7. I would certainly stay there again.
Ignore the poor reviews for this hotel. True, it is long overdue for a makeover, but it is an old if not historic building, and it does all work ! The floors squeak in places and the front facade needs painting but there's nothing here that couldn't be sorted out fairly easily. I enjoyed using the old-fashioned lift to the second floor and my stay in general.
I'm really trying to think... But honestly the homeless would complain..
Outdated smell of damp, mould on all walls, wallpaper falling off, paintwork disgusting. Door frames cracked hangin off, sealed windows fire hazard Shower cubicall too small to actually wash! Dining chairs falling apart Breakfast staff blunt n very miserable Dripping water outside bathroom window all nite long
close to shopping centre, end of.
chargeing for car parking, no side table light, hole in wall, no shaver power point. grubby run down building
Bed was comfortable
There was a tree growing through the ensuite window. The room was grubby but hey it's cheap and right in the centre of town. We just made sure we had an extra brandy before we went to bed
The building and it's history of what it holds to the area would come back
Decor does needs to be updated to be more inviting
Our room was large, comfortable and quiet. Appeared to be freshly decorated and updated.
The lift was ancient and quicker to use the stairs.
beautiful large room and very comfortable bed ; nice and clean aswell
Breakfast was the best for value
Being put in a room at the very top of the building into a small room. Bathroom was then on the other side of the building. Heating was on full, asked staff to turn it do but failed to do so.
Great affordable hotel food very good and staff pleasant and helpful
You cannot fault the staff who were courteous and very helpful, cheerful too.
Room was very tired and needs a makeover but room was very clean
Location was ace.
Great location and many shops and restaurants around it. Cozy hotel with old but nice interior and friendly staff.
The floor was crooked big time. The front door barely opens because the touch with floor. Windows don't open. No shampoo or shower gel, only soap.
