Interesting building with good staff in quiet location
No fruit at breakfast. Bathroom in need of some maintenance/decoration.
My room (1) was really nice and spacious and light. Very comfy bed and all lovely and clean. Decor is a bit old fashioned. Hotel has lovely character and history and although it is right by the airport, it is very quiet. I would stay here again.
The food offering was very limited - bar food only. No salads, mainly burger and chip type meals. I did not have breakfast so cannot comment on this.
Convenient for flights departing from DTV Airport.
The whole weekend stay Great.
I tried to order 20 hours of sunshine the best reception could do was 19
Food nothing special
Although happy with over all stay for one night, room was clean and quiet.
Although happy with over all stay for one night, we arrived at 2.45pm and was given a key to a room that was dirty and had not been made up from the last guest. Complained to the reception and was told we had to wait half an hour before we could have a room this is the last thing you need to hear when you have been traveling for nearly 5 hours. We was given a new room after 10 minutes waiting.
Bathroom and toilet need a good clean and refurbishment to include a shower. On checking in and at breakfast very little communication from staff infact almost unfriendly.
I thought en suites a bit dated other than that not bad for money
Too far from town centre
Convenient to the airfield. Mobility cart could be driven to room.
Good value for money. Friendly staff at reception at our late check-in, and the bar was opened at 11.20pm without hesitation.
Basic rooms, but at £40... Shower was all but ineffective. My party (6 rooms) all reported the same.
I didn't like the noise of the boiling water coming out of the towel rail in the bathroom. That kept me up all night.
Much quieter than expected, and the hotel has lots of character
Couldn't get wifi in our room. Couldn't turn off the towel rail with made the room a little too warm
very noisy when other people returned from there night out. lack of towels .only one small and one bath towel between 2 people lack of signs pointing to location of hotel
Was surprised with the history of hotel, and everything to do with the Canadian Air Force. Which we all found interesting.
The price at bar
Good sized rooms Quiet despite being near airport Reasonable value for money.
Poor breakfast experience. Tables not cleared. Did not like getting tea from dispenser, preferred a pot. No fruit salad option. Staff appeared uninterested when I complained. No soap in dispensers on arrival Scratch marks on walls. Needs painting.
The Bedroom and ensuite were good, good size television
I didnt like the fact that the gardener started cutting the grass at 8:15 in the morning, we had done a late night at work and were just chilling in the morning to be woken by a loud sit on lawn mower. The breakfast was awful, a good vet would have been able to bring the bacon back to life, we could have played rounders with the sausages they were so over done. the scrambled eggs were swimming in water and the hash browns were like cardboard. Staff at reception refunded my £17 i paid for breakfasts and we went to toby carvery.
I liked the staff. They were very welcoming. Nice big TV. Comfortable bed.
The bathroom needed a refurbishment, and the water from the bath tap was un-clean. I had to run the bath a second time. I thought the bar could be open later than 21:30.
Friendly, attentive staff, ambience. History of this former RAF base. The most comfortable bed for many a hotel stay. Uncannily quiet for an airport hotel!
Sauna temperature of room, due to towel rail on FULL. Staff stated they were unable to turn them off? Low shower pressure, toilet cistern slow to refill. (all reported on checkout)
Closeness to airport and dedication to rcafe.
No air conditioning and no facecloths.
location for us was good price was exellent
late night bar staff hard to find had to fulfill security duties before serving
The staff out of hour most friendly
The night poter was not friendly and not happy to service people that's why staff stopped back
I liked reading about the history of the ww2 and the pictures on the walls, very interesting . Nice breakfast ,and polite staff.
The steak was nice but the soggy chips were horrid .
nice and clean, good food, had a good stay. Would come again.
Expensive Lager : )
