Much quieter than expected, and the hotel has lots of character
Couldn't get wifi in our room. Couldn't turn off the towel rail with made the room a little too warm
very noisy when other people returned from there night out. lack of towels .only one small and one bath towel between 2 people lack of signs pointing to location of hotel
I liked the staff. They were very welcoming. Nice big TV. Comfortable bed.
The bathroom needed a refurbishment, and the water from the bath tap was un-clean. I had to run the bath a second time. I thought the bar could be open later than 21:30.
Friendly, attentive staff, ambience. History of this former RAF base. The most comfortable bed for many a hotel stay. Uncannily quiet for an airport hotel!
Sauna temperature of room, due to towel rail on FULL. Staff stated they were unable to turn them off? Low shower pressure, toilet cistern slow to refill. (all reported on checkout)
Closeness to airport and dedication to rcafe.
No air conditioning and no facecloths.
location for us was good price was exellent
late night bar staff hard to find had to fulfill security duties before serving
The staff out of hour most friendly
The night poter was not friendly and not happy to service people that's why staff stopped back
I liked reading about the history of the ww2 and the pictures on the walls, very interesting . Nice breakfast ,and polite staff.
The steak was nice but the soggy chips were horrid .
nice and clean, good food, had a good stay. Would come again.
Expensive Lager : )
Free WiFi only lasted 30mins
Staff were good and over worked. Obviously needed more staff to cope.
Food was atrocious. hotel in dire need of upgrading, looks very tired everywhere
The staff were friendly and helpful, bed clean and comfortable
The location was not at all what I expected by the photos on line, neither was the building. I did not expect to be staying in a former WWII Officers Mess, with memorabilia of the last war - which I found very depressing and not something I wanted to be reminded of. The plug hole in the wash basin needs a toothbrush and bleach - goodness knows when that was last cleaned properly.
Rooms clean and well equipped
No restaurent unless you were part of a 'coach party'. However food in bar looked better
Convenient to area towns and villages nearby.
Staff was reserved but talked readily among themselves. No place to eat nearby.
Peace and quiet, comfortable bed, large TV and staff friendliness.
Breakfast could have been better but was cooked to order at least.
Friendly staff, parking on site
The location. It is just a 100 metres walk from the airport terminal.
A few problems with hot water in the early morning. But eventually ran warm enough to have a shower.
great location, peaceful and quiet. very friendly hosts and very informative. The location was very peaceful, no traffic noises.
lack of evening meal at the hotel, but there are places nearby within 10 mins walk and if needed the hosts will book/reserve a table, so wasnt much of a problem.
The smell of blanket wasn't nice, I would recommend disposal cups than glasses
The blanket and pillow had a bad smell also hot water
Helpful, friendly staff, vfm food, comfy bed, large room. Was expecting the worst based on some reviews but for £39 for a double room I really couldn't fault it - some people expect too much for their money.
Bedroom carpet was a tad messy but it wasn't enough tout me off. Taps in bathroom took a few seconds to run properly but not really a problem
The room I was moved to following a number of complaints was freshly refurbished and quite pleasant.
First room I was offered was grubby, the bathroom smelt when the hot water was running and the shower curtain was disgusting with black mould in several places. Breakfast was swimming in fat.
The cleanliness and comfort of the room
Didn't seem to be any noise reduction, noise all evening from other guests in their rooms and in the corridoor. We were woken very early
Staff were friendly, food is good, free Wi-Fi, very 'homely' hotel with great character and history.
Poor water pressure, and could do with another member of staff in the bar in the evenings.
Exceptional service from all the staff, great value for money and the food in the bar/restaurant was a pleasant surprise and of good quality.
Some of the furnishings were a little tired but perfectly adequate for the value of the accommodation.
