The view from the breakfast room was really nice to the Golf court. Room was quiet, although facing the car park (no good view). Bathroom was spacious and nice.Reception staff was friendly and gave us good advises for having dinner. Breakfast was ok, nothing very special. The room was very outdated and had very worn out furniture. We have reserved a superior double-room (bigger room with newer décor, accordingly with booking description), so the room we received was not correspondent to the reservation. Didn't like the view to the car park. The hotel was pretty empty, so they could have assigned us a much better room.

I liked the windows that could be opened completely. Yhis allowed my son to hit iron shots through the open window and onto the green. Great practice while dressed only in his y fronts the spa was good as were the sherbert lemons dold in the hotel shop called Pippin. Other than that all pretty standard. The food was bland. The scrambled egg served for breakfast was appaling and Paul Trainee had about as much idea of service as Gordon Brown had about economics. I had to remind myself that we were in essexsuffolk so what did I expect!

Its location. Reception staff professional but impersonal. Rooms a bit bland in decor. Not sure what made the room 'superior', certainly not the lack of a fridge. Finish and fittings implied a 'just to budget' approach.

A very relaxing and enjoyable stay (even though we had non stop rain!). The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfasts were good. We would definitely visit the hotel again.

Large room, comfortable, elaxing. Breakfast too expensive and dinner is too stylish - would like to choose traditional English meals no just restaurant style. I have been on the road for a month now and just enjoy a basic meal.

This was our second stay at the Stoke By Nayland Hotel and once again we were not dissapointed. Staff, facilities and food all excellent. A comfortable place to stay for a special occasion without feeling that the hotel is " too posh " to relax. Well worth the money. Very poor mobile reception caused a problem when my husband needed to receive an important business call.

I liked the huge bed.Very peaceful, very quiet. The gym/spa facilities looked excellent, but my stay was too short to enjoy them. It felt much further in to the country side (from the a12) than it looked on the map. It was a narrow winding road/lane. Pitch black at night. Worth the effort if you were staying longer than 1 night. I also didn't like the fact that upon arrival, payment details were taken from my card including an extra £25, over-and-above the room rate, 'just-in-case' I might use/want something extra. This is despite completing a registration form on which I had stated I didn't require anything but the room.

I have never encountered such friendly staff, they simply could not do enough for you. They allowed us to check-in early following our earlier-than-anticipated arrival to the Hotel and made us feel instantly welcome and not afraid to ask if we needed anything further. The standard of rooms was excellent and very clean.

Friendly welcoming staff, good food, quiet location. Room was cold and the heating didn't work. This was remedied by moving me to another room.

I thought the spa facilities were very good, and enjoyed the treatment I had on the last day of my stay. I found the evening menu overpriced and rather mediocre in terms of quality. My steak was over cooked, and my partner's meal was not particularly special. If this were a stand alone restaurant, I would not dine there again.
