Location

Matresses were completely flat and extremely uncomfortable, they offered nil support and having a back problem they made me very immobile next day

We liked the staff and the hotel was very clean and well run

There was nothing we didn't like

The friendly accomodating atmosphere.

Slightly 'tired' decoration and cracked window panes in the bedroom.

Hotel is in great need of refurbishment. Had to request change of room because of faulty plumbing.Had difficulty with malfunctioning door lock.Presented with bill at end of stay which didn't acknowledge payment of deposit.

Nice friendly atmosphere in great location within easy walking distance of local pubs, restaurants, famous castle and nearby river.

Excellent location - Castle outside stunning + general views. Nice, comfortable room. No frills but perfectly adequate. Very pleasant staff. Excellent food. Convenient for the train station.

Could have done with the heating lower - or off.

Lovely little town and an excellent place to set off on a walk or bike ride or a golf game.

Handy for wildlife sites. Staff friendly and helpful.

One or two minor repairs would improve, eg dodgy doorlock, broken thermostatic radiator valve.

This hotel is tired and in desperate need of a full refurbishment. Raggy and thread bare carpets, some may even say a trip hazard. Wallpaper coming of the walls, with damp showing. Dusty and dirty. Mattresses, these really were terrible. Holes in pillow cases. Very dirty shower head. Draught through the window which didn't shut properly. I have a few photos backing this up, this hotel really should of been overhauled a long time ago.

Friendly service. Good food. Good value.

Value for money

Malcolm came to the hotel with his support worker for a one night stay. The staff were very good and Malcolm has said that he enjoyed his stay. He really liked the food and his room overlooking the castle.

Very small room , hotel needs updated, shower poor condition .

Not one thing!

Said it had free WiFi but no WiFi in room. Room dingie.beds felt like they were going to break at any time. Bathroom was dated. Small amount of loo roll, had to use paper napkins! Breakfast was rubbery and absolutely awful. It was soooo expensive i was shocked how bad it was. We will never go back and will not recommend it. Avoid at all costs. Needs Alex Politzi magic!!!

Decoration a little bit tired

Hotel in very good location, staff very helpful, friendly but not intrusive.

It was a very cold couple of days and although the radiators were at full blast it was a little on the cold side to sit in the bar and restaurant.

A fantastic Hotel. Room was spacious . Friendly and Helpful Staff Who made our stay Brilliant . Thanks to all the staff who made the stay so pleasant especially to the Guy who organised our Breakfast to fit in with our Scheduled

It's character and ambulance.

Excellent value for money Hotel in a perfect location with plenty of parking, (so cheap in fact that i did expect the worst). The rooms are clean & spacious with comfortable beds and a superb, powerful hot shower. We had a meal in the bar area which was delicious and the waiting time was good too considering the Rotary Club Annual Christmas knees-up was in full swing. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again!!

I liked the old builden and the feechers.The breakfast and the evening meal were very good,the location overlooking the castle was outstanding.
