Excellent staff . Location superb an overall justifies a high rating
Have no complaints. - the hotel is an excellent base for exploring Wells .
Very dated room with a big hole in the floor
Helpful & polite staff Great setting and pleasant surroundings.
Quite a lot of steps to negotiate. Sorry to have missed out on the upgrade offered by email - I got to it too late
Position was excellent - staff couldn't have been more helpful. Gave us some tips about where we might like to visit and where not to bother with.
Lovely room Enjoyed comfort of Hotel Had an excellent Dinner and breakfast Value for money
near the cathedral and town
the dinner menu. not a lot of variety
The decoration, the situation.......the staff were pleasant.......a lovely old hotel
Although nicely furnished room 17 was stuffy, the kitchen extractor noise was bad when the windows were open......the menu needs attention
the location was lovely, staff excellent
thought the room was a bit pricey at £147 per night, nice but nothing special,, breakfast was a bit basic
The Hotel has an excellent position and is very good in all the services it provides. Clean well maintained with helpful friendly and cheerful staff
The evening meal we had was of a poor standard. I can only imagine the regular chef was off duty from previous recommendations I teceived
Charming Hotel. Location wonderful.Great breakie.Parking good.
Wedding party under our window.....but we were warned so fair enough. Would def go back for repeat booking.
Réception was not open before 7am avoiding early departure. Similarlý breakfast is not served before 7am
Staff were excellent and communicated well with each other
No music in the restaurant- some background music on the Friday night would have added ambiance
Food and service excellent Setting superb
In a period building the stairs are steep, and WiFi is patchy in remote corners of hotel.
Location was enjoyable, food was plentiful and well presented, service was excellent, all the staff being friendly and helpful.
Bar was pricey compared to the other local venues which were very close. Access to the car park and parking at the hotel can be difficult at times
Great attention to detail amazing location - no lift which could be a problem for those with limited mobility but otherwise excellent.
The hotel and staff were lovely, and it was well situated in Wells with good parking facilities. Breakfast was excellent and the room was quiet and comfortable with a large en suite attached. Great hotel for exploring Wells and the surrounding areas such as Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Longleat and Glastonbury
There wasn't any air conditioning in the hotel as this is a listed building, which made the bedroom very warm at night despite there being a fan to keep us cool. This wasn't a big deal as we opened all the windows as well as having a fan in the room
We were upgraded to the Cathedral Suite which was amazing! Perfect views of Wells Cathedral from all 3 rooms, luxurious rooms and bathroom, gold rolled top bath!
Friendly courteous staff Clean comfortable room Reliable room service Nice to have table and chairs in room Proximity to city centre
Supply of courtesy tea coffee etc not replenished when room serviced Likewise small bottle of Easter supplied but never replenished. Breakfast service in dining room very busy towards end as it was the weekend and no-one wanted and early breakfast this we had to wIt for a table and consequently could not check out on time. Suggest moving back breakfast service at weekends about half an hour
Very comfortable beds, staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast excellent.
Car parking a bit tight, single glazed windows so a little noisy near car park. Rooms on small size but to be expected in building this age.
I loved my whole experience of staying at The Swan. The location is excellent, right in the centre of the city and opposite the cathedral with an uninterrupted view across the cathedral green. Our room was lovely, a mix of ancient and modern which was very tasteful and comfortable. The staff members were all excellent, efficient, friendly and extremely welcoming. Our breakfasts were lovely and we ate an excellent evening meal in the restaurant.
Superb location. Charming lounge area. Friendly staff. Comfortable and well equipped room. Reasonable bar prices.
Relatively limited breakfast, hot breakfast good, less choice for cold items. Some rooms clearly beautifully decorated, ours was much more standard (in coach house).
Comfortable room. Friendly staff. Central location. Scrummy breakfast.
comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff.
The rooms felt luxurious
