Stayed for one night as had works Christmas party in Trafford. Great Location Freindly Staff Clean Rooms Quiet Great value for money
Location, staff, parking, price.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was very shabby and dirty with a slug on the bathroom wall. The kettle was black inside and the room was freezing cold. Not very welcoming or pleasant to stay in.
A jewel of a building in Trafford Park - so atmospheric! Welcoming and situated just a short stroll away from the metro, staff were all very friendly and oozed pride in their place of work. Not the easiest of places to keep in tip top condition, but this only added to the hotel's charm. Quirky, which suited us down to the ground - we LOVED it!!!!
There wasn't really anything to dislike. The age and size of the building means it must be a pain to maintain, but so much history and "olde civic pride" more than makes up for any rough edges there might be.
The room was a good size and came with two electric heaters one fixed and one portable so was very warm. The bed was comfortable.
The cleaners had not done a brilliant job cup ring marks on bed side cabinets and table and dust here and there, and whoever painted the room needs a bit of training with cutting in paint all over plug sockets and paint drips on furnature.I fancied a pint but the bar area was freezing to cold to sit and relax infact anywhere outside the room was cold, having said all that I would stay again.
Size of the room Friendliness of all staff
I was cold as I did not know how to operate the heater and I would suggest they leave an extra blanket in the room for people like me
right next to the tram line that links the airport and the city centre.
the bedroom was dirty and needing a remodelation. Although the towels and linens were ok. The reception closes at 4 a.m. In my opinion this is too expensive for the offered conditions, but we didn't find a cheapest one.
Location, comfort and size of room
Lack of cupboard and shower was very weak
Nothing to fault.
Agree with a recent review. This is an old hotel (hence a bit tired), but very comfortable, great location (near metrolink), great price (especially considering the general average at this time of year). Cannot fault the staff here either - much better than higher-rated hotels.
lovely receptionist/barmaid-very chatty and helpful
very dated hotel
The location to the Trafford centre was perfect as that's all we travelled for. The bed was comfy. Room was clean and tidy.
The hotel was good considering we only paid £33 per night. The bathroom wasn't the best and the cleaners left the window open after cleaning our room. Room could do with some TLC and a lick of paint.
Clean and comfy
Wifi did not work well
Water is warm
Duvet and noise of boiler. There was a smell of carpet in corridor.
The staff did there best but they couldn't really comment there hands were tied so to say
We had a twin single room it was so badly lite one wall light and table lamp I had to use mobile phone light to read paper. There was a broken heater in room and a useless portable heater we got travel rugs from car so cold.the kettle was rusty inside.the double glazing was so draft might as well had window open.£7 for a basic cold Luke warm and there was a flask for hot water in breakfast room ! Bath chipped toilet had crack and black damp all around bathroom Never again ! If you go take a portable heater and multi plug limited sockets had to unplug tv to charge phone
Good location, seconds away from trafford bar station. Very good value for money Clean enough
Wifi did not work well.
Location to Old Trafford was convenient
No receptionist when we arrived..Had to wait 20 mins for her to tend the desk. Bed mattresses extremely uncomfortable. No hot water for shower in morning. Room we got was outdated and just poorly decorated. Not value for money spent
Close to old trafford, nice friendly staff..
Friendly and pleasant staff
The breakfast was superb. The staff were very friendly.
The hoitel looks very tired. The room was cold and only a small heater to warm it.
Location and staff were friendly
Room was small and not especially slean
we liked the breakfast and the hotel staff were excellent. A great bar in the hotel.
I was very disappointed in the room we had, it was very small and cramped for two. The bed was very comfortable, but the room was very disappointing. We were in room no 10, we noticed the room next door 12a was really big with two single b eds in and desk and chair etc. In our room it was so small a chair would not have fitted in. Also you you could not have the heater, television and boil the kettle at same time as their was only two plugs.
Would NOT stay here again not up to standard at all and the room was freezing cold
I read the review about hotel from hell. Worried me. However the place was perfect for our needs. Obviously his expectations for a hotel are too high and of hell too low! Stay here if you need to go to the game
