Victoria Park Lodge  

A big room that included two twin seater chairs. About 10 minutes or so to walk to Main Street shops, cafes and restaurants. Easy walking distance to train station.

Breakfast was served quickly and efficiently by pleasant staff

TV was old and took a while to warm up!

It was very central. The staff were very helpful.

Size of family room - large enough for two double beds and a single but still plenty of floor space. On site car parking Location - 5 minute walk to town centre (leave car at hotel) Very relaxed and informal

tired decor. Carpet in bathroom. hopeless shower and miniscule bath. bath towels small. Stained chair seats in room and dining room.

Close to shops and amenities friendly staff

Lay out of room requires reconsideration. False nail on floor water in taps very hot : no warning sign. Breakfast appeared a little disorganised at times. Tea pot requires accompaniment with additional hot water ( tea v strong)

Peace and quiet in a back room over-looking a nice garden, also parking easy, good breakfast, nice staff.

Evening meal would have been nice but 10 minute walk to nice eateries

Shortage of tea/coffee. Breakfast finished at 9.00 am on a Sunday.

No lounge area for guests to sit and if there was there was no mention of one. Bathroom in the room that I stayed in had a broken bath panel.

We had a nice clean room at the Victoria Lodge & the staff were very friendly & helpful. I would recommend the Victoria but would suggest you ask to stay in the main building not next door!

We didn't like the carpet in the bathroom (unhygienic). We were put in another building next door & had louts return from the nightclubs at 3:30am who made lots of noise, were very childish & inconsiderate! I would not stay in this building if we returned, we would want to stay in the main building as I'm sure the owners would not have put up with this!

Easy to find. Lots of parking even when we returned late in the evening. Close enough to the centre of town to be convenient but not too close to be disturbed by nightlife etc.

Some repairs needed here and there in the hotel, but good value for money

the breakfast was excellant the room was a good size situated at the rear of the property very quiet and the bed was really comfortable the bathroom was clean and adequate with plenty of hot water ,take care the water is really very hot.there is ample parking.The hotel staff are super efficient and friendly.the town centre is 5 minutes walk .
