The Staff - All of them were excellent - Room was fine - Tea - Coffee - Biscuits Fruit etc . Would stay again -
The only small problem was the background noise from next doors bathroom extractor fan . Maybe an idea to have them on timers so they switch off after 5 mins or so . Not a big problem but it was audible .
Second time I've stayed here. Easy to find and good transport links into town centre as well as local shops & restaurants.
Parking, exterior of hotel
The position of the Washington is excellent, central to town and Clifton village. We paid the £6.00 per night for parking and this was well worth it as parking in the area is very poor. The room was very clean and the breakfast was excellent. We would certainly return to this hotel. Good value for the price paid. Thank you for a good experience.
The room was a bit on the small side and needed upgrading, a lick of paint would suffice
Had a great short break - great staff very helpful. Would do anything to make our stay as great as it could be. We will advise other friends to visit this hotel.
Bathroom was a little small - but OK but could have redecorated - other than that all was very good.
staff all very pleasant & helpful. good breakfast.
as above. hotel very worn.
The breakfasts were good and the service fine. Front desk staff were very helpful and pleasant although a bit confused over the fact that we had paid in advance and then wanted extras on our arrival.
The car park is poor quality for the £6 a night paid. Poorly signed from the road, hard to enter and exit and the entrance to the rear hotel entrance is not signed. You have to pick out a path to a choice of doors with no way of telling which door to use and the possibility of tripping over. We paid for three days of Wi Fi but weren't told that it was charged per minute and one days worth could have lasted all weekend. The stairways to the rooms were very scruffy and in need of a lick of paint. Cleaners bags were on the stairs from early in the morning until late on. For the first two nights our room was very hot even though we had turned the radiators off. The heat was coming from somewhere but we couldn't find where from. On our last night everything was normal. Overall though we enjoyed our stay there but probably wouldn't use that particular hotel again.
The location is within walking distance of Clifton village, bus stops with regular buses to bristol zoo.The hotel is cosy & friendly.
There's no lift & it can be noisy near the main road on Saturday nights.
Comfy, relaxed, clean and a lovely lady receptionist. Pet friendly at no extra charge!
The shower was a luke warm trickle.
English Breakfast very good, fresh fruits, nice tea & coffee, room clear.
No lift for heavy luggage and water pressure not enough.
Very friendly and helpful staff and the breakfast was excellent. A nice touch was the fruit in the room. The room I had was fairly basic but totally adequate and spotlessly clean. I would certainly return again.
I don't really have anything bad top say!!
Good breakfast. Good location, near the Bristol university
No lifts. I will get a big problem with heavy luggage.
fruit in room. Evening staff very helpful and pleasant.
Very slow service in restaurant. I had to leave without my breakfast. 24 minutes was not enough to serve me in spite of the fact that I was the first customer and did explain that I was in a hurry.
Bed was very comfy. Good choice of tea/coffee in room Good breakfast Very friendly and helpful staff
The car park was very small, luckily we managed to park at the sister hotel "The Clifton".
Located near to city centre. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. All night reception. Onsite car parking (for a reasonable fee)
Choice of teas etc. in room plus bowl of fruit. Parking, albeit tight, a boon in this part of town.
Old fashioned building so access to room was up and down and round and about and with cases and dogs quite a palaver. Needs decorating, particularly public areas as quite shabby.
I stayed here for 12 nights on business and was comfortable the whole time. The staff were very helpful! The room was clean. Location is convenient for the University and Clifton Village. Felt very safe. Hot breakfast every morning was nice.
The bed was very comfortable and the staff were incredible friendly and polite.
The room was very dated, wallpaper was pealing from the window, it was very hot in the room despite it being December. The bathroom suite was very dated and the shower very poor.
The hotel was very quiet and we were not disturbed. There is an option to eat at a sister hotel within 50 yards of the front door which also has a bar.
Our particular en suite had restricted head room when using the shower. Anyone over six feet would have had a problem.
The staff were all lovely, the pillows were comfy, lots of fluffy towels, breakfast was delicious!
The room was a bit hot!
Everything was ok.
Clean room Friendly staff Lots of complimentary tea and drinks in the room Tasty breakfast
The room was very comfortable and included fresh fruit and coffee/tea with a cafetiere.
Broadband costs extra.
Value for money. Now that Channings has gone up-market there aren't many god independent hotels in the city centre offering a really good welcome among quirky architecture. Staff and breakfasts are all fantastic. Car park is £6 but there's plenty of on-road parking nearby so no need to pay really.
The hotel decor is a bit dated; but I'm happy to accept it since it adds charm and character and the price was good.
