It was an ideal base for walking into town. We were offered a room in the guest house next door as there was a function on and could have been noisy which i felt was very nice of the staff to inform us of this. Our room was lovey looking over the river. Breakfast was lovely and a good choice of cereals, fruit juices ect.. The only thing i was very disapointed with was the meal we had in the restraunt definatley not up to the standard i had expected. Soup very over seasoned and having to buy vegetables and potatoes separately was not good atall. Would stay in hotel again but would not have dinner. |

The staff I met were all friendly & very helpful. Would definitely stay at the Waterside again. the only thing I didn't like was the black pudding at breakfast time!!! All I could taste of it was cinnamon! Bring on the Stornoway black pudding! |

Good food, friendly, accommodating staff, warm, comfortable room. Lovely to sit in the restaurant and watch the river. Open fire and papres in the lounge. I hadn't thought to ask about a lift (isn't one) or walk in shower(for elderly relative). The elderly relative managed OK but suggested clearer definition of steps and ramps might be something to think about. |

Excellent location, quiet rooms, not too many stairs, ample car parking. conveneient walking distance to town centre. Friendly staff. Very clean. Staff were friendly and willing but not very professional, they need a "Directing Mind" to marshal thier activities. Service in the restaurant was slow due to the staff not being directed properly, especially so at breakfast time. The food itself was good. No soap/shampoo holder in shower. |

The food was excellent and the conservatory/dining area was very comfortable with a nice outlook. The room was clean but basic and furnishings tired and in need of refurbishment. |

The staff are very helpful and will ensure your stay is comfortable My room was very small, only standard TV Channels, and bathroom wasn't big enough to turn around in especially in front of the wash basin, I have however stayed in very good rooms on a previous stay and would stay again providing I wasnt in rooms 28, 29 or 30 |

Location. So-called "welcome" Had to wait for a conversation to end before we could check in."Service "at breakfast was complete chaos.Had to wait 25 mins for cooked food.Nothing has changed since we stayed there last year, but never again.Bed too big for the small room.Over-priced.Evening meal poor quality. |

the location was good, staff were friendly and the view at breakfast onto the river was lovely. In the new part of the hotel the walls of the rooms are far to thin ,you could hear exactly what the person next was talking about. you can even hear a person snoring, which kept me awake. |

Served it's purpose as an overnight stay on my way up to Orkney. Although the hotel was obviously old with the quality of my room not not as I would have expected for the price compared to modern hotels , the staff in generally though were friendly and the food in the restaurant was acceptable. |
