Pleasantness of the staff
Handy for where we were working and plenty of desk space to work.
The single beds were so narrow and uncomfortable you could not move for fear of falling out of bed( the size of a bunk on a boat). The Wifi did not reach the room the hall heater was broken so there was no ambient heat and when we went out the cleaner turned off the heater so the room was freezing when we came back and the smell of oil based paint in the lobby.
I had previously used this hotel some 10 years ago and the location suited our purpose. That was the only plus side.
The hotel is shabby, the staff either non existent or too concerned with chatting to their mates than dealing with the customers. Waited over 15 minutes to be served in the bar and eventually left and went elsewhere as no staff present despite the bar having many customers.
Friendly staff and helpful, nice new beds I think.
Not so much bad but some nice person put a bottle of beer under the front wheel of my car. As I drove off "bang" both front tyres flat , I was delayed by 3 hours and £400 worse off. Staff did give some plasters for my cut hands but as you imagine not best pleased!!
Staff were amazing nicest most friendly staff we have ever experienced. Best cooked breakfast in hotel for years
Didn't know about wifi.
room basic but had everything you needed
I had my works van parked in the carpark less then an hour when i went back to it to get something out all my wheel trims had been nicked so this spoilt my evening not happy
We booked this as a cheap place to stay after a night out in Reading. It was clean and comfortable, no frills but none required. Shower was hot and bed was comfy. Great value for money.
Good Pub Grub
Staff on reception were excellent
Central position. Restaurant and Bar
Room was dirty and smelt unclean Bed linen clearly not changed Bathroom dirty Hairs in the bed On changing rooms, coffee mug dirty and clearly not properly washed
It's in sad need of an update
Cheap food in the pub but service very slow.
Very basic, bed too small uncomfortable , this is more a stopover for contractors .
Good sized room, comfortable bed.
Cold in room first night. No instructions on how to use heater. Eventually got some heat on the first morning, but when we returned to the room that night it was like a sauna! Even with the window open we were too warm to sleep comfortably at first and we had turned the heat off.
room in scruffy condition and was generally tired. site in need of refurbishment
Staff were friendly and helpful
The hotel is ready for some redecoration and upgrading
Bed comfy and clean, bathroom ok
Public areas were a disgrace, Wallpaper peeling and very grubby. Staff not very helpful either. Find somewhere else to stay!
Both pub and accommodation was very, very dirty. Would not recommend or stay again.
I chose this hotel for it's location being close to friends I was visiting. The check-in was friendly and easy. The room was quiet and the bed comfy.
In need of a refirb. Furniture has light damage and the towel rail didn't work. The room could have been cleaner, especially the en-suite where there were hairs in the bath. Expensive for what it is.
The evening food was good after hard day at work.
I have stayed here before and had a much better room than this time. Carpet was damp. Radiator /heater hanging off wall. Lamp shade hanging off. Such a lot of money for the room given. Very disappointing
Location Value for money Adequate facilities
Ground floor hot and didn't like to leave window open all night. Quite noisy. Decor a little tired. Noisy fan in bathroom.
I loved the noisy bar ( football was on telly ) bright lights, good atmosphere, good bar staff, beer was OK too.
One of the most comfortable beds.
Hotel overlooks a main road and a petrol station. Was woken up 3AM by lorries and deliveries to the petrol station from 5AM.
Not much hot water for a bath. Only one coat hanger . Half a toilet roll.
The staff were really lovely friendly & helpful you couldnt fault them or the Hungry Horse side I was looked after very well
My door lock was not secure I had to mess around with the door to lock it - the decor was dated - which was a shame as the bed itself was really comfy - but the noise from other guests walking around was really loud - especially whoever was in the room above me and appeared to get on their "horse" and ride around the room on it for most of the night !!! It was an ok stay
