Nothing like what the website advertises bed was uncomfortable staff didn't speak good English looked old and tired window was drafty and would close properly the stairs felt as tho they were falling through as u walked up them. Would not stay there again miles away from all attractions although it said it was a short walk away. No car parking spaces although the hotel seemed empty apart from a small group in the lounge.

We first went in to use the toilet as we were a hour early 2 book in, the toilets were so discusting! So we were already dreding our stay! We then took along walk 2 the shops which we repeated several times as the trams and busses wernt running! We got told our room was upgraded to the sea view where all we could c through the curtains hanging off the rail, a crappy balcony with a lot of junk on it. The window didn't close properly so we were freezing @ night, damp in the wardrobe, and bathroom, fag ends on the floor of the stairs up 2 our room! We booked 3 nights but only stayed for 2. Its miles away from any shops or main attractions, and we heard a lot of loud noises through the night coming from what sounded like kids, this whole 'hotel' needs a makeover, can't believe they r stil allowed to take peoples money for even 1 nights stay! Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!

I couldnt actually say there is anytihng to like at the Welbeck, there was a language barrier between myself and the staff, and they didnt smell all that nice either, the place was dirty, dusty, tatty, wobbly steps walking upto the room which isnt good carrying a 2 year old, the room was covered in plaster splashes, the bedding had paint on it, and the bathroom the loo had been used by someone and not flushed and found other peoples body hairs, not from there head. The breakfast was supposed to be a full english but consisted of sausage that are the worst i have ever tasted, baby warm beans, 1 rasher of bacon and an egg with half a slice of fried bread, hated parting with £5.00 for it, and was worried about eating it as allsorts going through my mind as to what the kitchen would be like.

Getting out of it and spending the day in Blackpool with my daughter. It was unwelcoming. It wasn't clean. The towels and bedding weren't changed during out stay. We had to search for someone in order to replenish the tea/coffee making facilities. The butter pats on the breakfast table where undoubtedly out of date, and rancid, which put us off actually having a breakfast which I had previously paid £4.99 each for. I have photographs to confirm that the room was unacceptable.

I'm sorry to write this, but nothing. The hotel needs to be re-assessed as I am sure it should not be rated on any level. There is no front door key, so if you want to stay out after 11pm you have to ring the bell and a very grumpy lady lets you in. The windows don't close in your room so its very noisy to outside traffic, etc. Rooms are small. I was there 2 weeks and the carpets in my room or stairs was not cleaned/hoovered. I could write an essay, but my advice is for a one night stay for a hen or stag do, its fine, but any more, don't bother.

Bar was comfortable, the staff were friendly. Had a free phone to call taxis which was useful Shabby hotel overall on the inside. Most things chipped, cracked or stained. The room was far too hot especially last at night and in the morning due to their heating and window too small so no fresh air to balance out the heat. Our door looked as though someone had previously tried breaking in which was slightly worrying and our bed wasn't made on a daily basis nor were fresh towels provided on a daily basis so housekeeping a bit poor overall.

i did not like anything about the welbeck hotel, the photos of the hotel must of been taken a long time ago,as it needs a complete refurbishment, plug sockets hanging of the wall with wires exposed, beds and firniture had seen better days, carpets were disgusting, as was the botched up showers, filthy curtains, breakfast was cold, served on cold plates, bacon was not cooked long enough, and the staff could not understand what you were asking for, and some were rude. we booked for two nights as we were seeing family and friends, we left the next morning, so would not recommend this hotel to anybody,

Nothing the best bit was leaving. The first thing that hits you is the smell like that of an old damp car. The rooms where small and grubby. The staff unhelpful, trying to take Card details even though I’d paid in full. Then they lost the room key to one room and on top of that no towels in the rooms, when towels arrived they where damp hope it was from washing not just handed in. Due to all this we turned down breakfast. The best part was leaving.

On arrival the location was exaggerated regarding the distance from the central pier. The rooms were dirty particularly bathroom, there were no towels. We were given them on request and they were stained. Also other members of the party, one the door did not fit hte frame there were big gaps around it. One did not have a shower as stated. Another had no hot water. The fire extinguishers had been used and not replaced and the fire doors were locked with a key. Light fittings were dangerous with bare wires hanging. Finally one of the couples refused to stay and booked into another hotel. We were grateful that we did not book a breakfast or a longer stay than one night. I definitely would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

The sea view. No hot running water on arrival. No towels. Bathroom door had to be slammed to shut. TV in room too small but didn't work anyway. Bottled cider at bar out of date.

The staff made the stay bearable, it was a pretty old fashioned hotel which seemed like it should have been torn down years ago but the staff were more than helpful and really tried their best. It is badly in need of a makeover and the rooms were too small. we got a good deal for the trip so I feel bad being negetive but if I paid more than £30 per night I would have been disgusted.

The staff at The Welbeck were incredibly accomodating and friendly. The rooms were great value for the price. We were a mixed group of 7 and this was not a problem. The staff were always on hand to serve in the bar even if it was just water the morning after the night before. We will definitely book here again

The hotel needs a lot of work on it, room 211 was poorly decorated, Radiator not working supplied small fan heater. Room not clean, beds lumpy, mattress stained, pillows stained although had clean sheets and pillow cases. Bathroom no heating, no rail for towels, no soap supplied, no ventilation. Pigeons nesting in space above bathroom waking you up 6am cooing. Windows in bedroom and bathroom covered in pigeon droppings. Room smelt musty. Tv supplied but had to give £10 refundable deposit for tv control unit. Breakfast extra £5 was good for price. Only 3 people including us stayed . Hotel dismal a wonderful building great location needs a lot of money spending on it .Will not be going back unless thing improve.

I booked a room at the Welbeck because it had a special offer promotion operating, making it the cheapest hotel by miles! I liked the old fashioned seaside town feel to the hotel. There was an old fashioned dining room and cocktail lounge which gave the place a real vintage charm. However, I'm not sure how often the cocktail lounge is used. The bedroom was cosy and the bed was comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities were good and the option of a cooked breakfast for £5 was reasonable. Overall, the hotel was good value for money and the quality was as to be expected for £26.99 for a double room. The facilities were pretty basic but ok. I would recommend this hotel to people travelling around and in need of a cheap, convenient place to stay for a night or two. The en suite bathroom contained a bath but no shower which wasn't that convenient. The addition of soaps, toiletries would have been a nice touch. The lift is not in operation so would not be suitable for people with limited mobility.

Where do I start? The hotel was dark, depressing, in need of renovation, and cold - there was little if no heating in the whole building. Rooms were clean but unwelcoming, and my door was difficult to lock, with no security chain. I will definitely not be recommending the Welbeck to anyone. It's only positive point was the location. Although the booking was fully paid for in advance, they insisted on swiping my card on arrival - if there are any further charges made then this matter will go further.

The price was the only thing that appealed about the hotel, it was like something out of a horror film. Had to have a heater in our room as the heating was never on, the staff (of which we saw only one) couldn't even speak pigeon English. It was like something out of a horror film. Had to have a heater in our room as the heating was never on, the staff (of which we saw only one) couldn't even speak pigeon English. The view from our window was bird poo and more bird poo as the windows clearly hadn't been cleaned in years. Not a pleasant place to stay but for 1 night only it was manageable.
