The staff were friendly and helpful, putting a third bed in the family room we'd booked as soon as we asked for it. The rooms were clean, and a good size. A nice touch was a bottle of water left in the room as well as the usual tea and coffee. Our family room and double room had an interconnecting door, which made it possible for us to have one room and the children the other without us worrying about whether they were all right, or if they needed anything. The rooms were quite warm overnight. Luckily, our window wouldn't stay shut and whilst this could have been a problem it turned out to be a help!

The staff were very helpful and attentive. The food was excellent, particularly the evening meal. Little things needed attention in some of the rooms - one of our wondows was stuck open, and our TV reception was very poor.

Good shower, comfortable bed, quiet. Tired decor and basic furnishings. Dark breakfast room very unappealing - surely a better place in the building with outside view?

Very pretty location. The flowing river and the ducks made us feel very welcome! Easy walking distance to town. Market day every Thursday. Horse racing once a month at Fakenham Race Course if that is what you are looking for! Undergoing refurbishment. We were not advised about this. Most facilities were not available. Asked for a room overlooking the river told not available due to refurbishment. Had to eat our meals in the bar area no proper restaurant. Our room at the back of the hotel overlooked the kitchen where cooking smells drifted into the room. Squeaky floors and some noisy guests. Insecure accessibility to the area where our room was. The key to our room was the only secure entry. My wife felt very vulnerable. Hope when the refurbishment is completed these problems will be resolved.

Convenient location for town centre. Clean room and excellent shower. Fairly basic facilities.... Quite expensive for the grade of hotel but the room was clean and the breakfast quite ok. Good for a short stay if close proximity to Fakenham required.

Good service, lovely breakfasts, good welcome, good sized room & comfy bed. All mod cons with iron/ironing board & toiletries. I did not begrudge paying the £87 for a double room as I had a nice visit, but the decor was a little dated, especially the en-suite so if this was improved I would feel happier to pay the £87. I feel the price could be reduced a little...

Handy location for what I required. This is the fourth time I have stayed. Reasonable comfort. Good breakfast. Tea/coffee making facilities in room. The crockery with the drink facilities was cracked and of poor quality. The decor of the public rooms was bland and poorly coordinated.

The staff were welcoming but the room was being worked on (Fire Alarm improvements apparently); however, it was quickly resolved and the room was warm. In the dining room, although the beakfast was very good, the tables were sticky in that anything placed on them remained stationary until forced to move. The dining room was part of the bar and whilst eating breakfast I personally don't like to see men drinking alcohol, further on the first evening a few men were so drunk in the bar that it precluded me from going in and having a drink.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was small but comfortable, everything was very clean. I hate all hotels which lecture me on being eco-friendly but don't offer to pass on to me the savings to them of my continuing to use used towels, etc. This is just a sneaky way for them to increase their own profits.
