It was easy to find, very comfortable and we were able to check in earlier than we thought which was great, meaning we didnt have to carry our luggage around town. It providided everything we needed. The staff weren,t too forth coming on imformation that we would have considered to be very useful such as dont keep the key card next to credit cards or mobile phones or it will need resetting, and that in a double room the towels are in the wardrobe. Ive never been to a hotel where ive had to actually go and ask as their not in the obvious place. |

... the very quiet room, the marvellous view to the cathedral of Winchester and the outstanding friendly and German speaking staff at the reception and the hotel bar ... we have been disappointed by the breakfest |

Breakfast was to a good standard, staff helpful and location excellent Despite booking a double room, when we arrived, granted late after an all day wedding we were told there was only a 'small' room left and if we weren't happy he could find us somewhere else. Went up to the room to find it a single, with 3/4 sized double. Being 1am we lived with it but it was generally unacceptable as we could see tan old room number crossed of the receipt. |

The hotel was next door to the cathedral and very close to the shops on the main high street. The room was spacious and had everything you could need e.g. hairdryer, iron & ironing board etc. Breakfast was OK but I've had better! |

Out of date furnishings. Poor sound insulation. Permanently empty minibar. Deserves a maximum of two stars. Each day with the buffet breakfast, one had to wait for the eggs and butter to be replenished. Car park nearly always full. |

Room was spacious, clean and well equipped with comfortable beds, armchairs and small fridge. It had a lovely view over the Cathedral grounds and was quiet. The staff were really helpful and although we paid £6.00 for overnight parking, we were allowed to leave the car there free after we checked out while we spent the day in the city. The decor is a bit faded and the cooked breakfast was not very flavoursome. |

Views over the Abbey. Very comfortable room. Easy parking. Friendly reception and bar staff. The dinner menu was very trade pack. I recognised virtually all of it as not being prepared on the premises. I would not recommend eating there. The service was quite poor probably because it was not busy as a result of the food not being good. |

The staff were very efficient and friendly Shabby is not chic anymore. The whole hotel needs to be redecorated. It was quite dated and one could smell the breakfast from the door which is not very nice when my wife is a vegetarian. |
