Good value weekend deal at a hotel in a great location. It's an old hotel whch added to the character. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Service in the restaurant was slowl however, having seen other reviews of this hotel this doesn't seem to be a common experience.

Reception staff friendly and helpful.Old world air atmosphere and decor very nice. Loved the names on the bedroom doors.Room looked onto the cathedral. Staff were very slow to bring tea and toast to the breakfast table both mornings.Cooked breakfast nicely cooked but average selection. Wedding breakfast on Saturday starters were muddled up - refused a goats cheese starter as we had ordered salmon - waiter told us there were no alternatives and said we had made a mistake - he later apologised and said there was a mistake in the kitchen - but we still had to do without the first course. Two other couples who had ordered salmon were given goats cheese but ate it as an alternative.

I have stayed at the WH over a number of years going back to70's. I was disappointed with the changes made to the front and dining room. It has changed its 'high class' traditional look to a 'Best Western' Hotel. Seeing a very noisy bar on entering was a wrong decision, in my opinion. Would I stay again? I would probably try other hotels now around the Cathedral as the original look from the WH is now gone for ever.

A decent sized room we could entertain guests in, with good room service. Comfortable bed. Enjoyed a relaxing hour eating breakfast each day. Close to the Cathedral which we were visiting for the duration of our stay. Good parking, big bonus in this old quarter of the City. We hope that during this hotels renovation, the frontage of the historic building, used for parking, opposite what was our room is brought up to a decent standard, which will greatly improve the view. This great old hotel of Lincoln is under going a massive change, to bring it into the 21st century, and will end up as a contemporary hotel. But its got a long way to go. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night, and after 7pm it was more like entering a pub with rooms! Pleased we booked a suite, as we would have found it difficult to talk to our guests in the cocktail bar due to the noise

Very near the cathedral. It had character and a friendly atmosphere. It has its own individuality; although it is obviously a historic building it is in very good repair and has been carefully modernised.

Quaint olde worlde charm, but with modern comforts. Lovely location so near the cathedral, and castle. Would have preferred a more formal dining option, but the modern light and airy feel was not out of place in this lovely old building.

Excellent location. Quiet and very comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Very good car park. Air of 'worn-out' in corridors and staircases - carpet very worn and lift very rickety.

The location was great. A busy hotel with lots going on. Previous guests pubic hairs in the bath and on the floor. Room was chilly. Breakfast staff didnt really have their eye on the ball. Had to request a lad to remove our empty dishes, even though they were stacked up in front of me.

Very central in Lincoln - between the castle and the minster with a great view of the minster from my room. Residents car park/garage across the road. Good service and good quality food in the hotel restaurant. An old established traditional hotel, fine for me but if you hate creaky floorboards it may not be for you.

Right in the middle of the old part of Lincoln and close to all the sites. Helpful concerning luggage as room was not ready on arrival. Nice room with outer sitting area and adequate bathroom. Noisy at night as could hear everyone walking along corridor. No fridge in room. Only one towelling robe. Changed towels each morning.

The location is excellant, we had a view of the Cathedral from our room. We've stayed before and like it very much. Our bedroom was a good size but would expect that at the price that we paid for one night. The breakfast was very good, first time I've bothered to have a full english for a long time it was very tasty. We also ate there at night time and enjoyed our meal very much. The same old thing with older buildings. Squeeky floorboard syndrome. I would also like to have a pot of coffee on the breakfast table rather than trying to catch the eye of a member of staff. Having said that the coffee was very nice.
