White Hart Hotel  

Set in a delightful setting, just off the main road, within easy access of Colchester and surrounding area. The hotel was very comfortable, served good food and had friendly and welcoming staff. I would highly recommend it.

Food excellent (Try the Lamb Shanks ) Grand old building.

Bedroom was a bit dusty. TV did not work

The staff at this hotel were extremely helpful and very friendly. In fact, on checking in, I left my handbag at reception and didn't realise until a few minutes later when the manager brought it up to my room, which proves how honest they were. The hotel is very old and quaint and the rooms bright, airy and very clean. Breakfast was excellent and there were a variety of dishes to choose from, which was included in the price of the room. The village of Coggeshall in which the White Hart is located, is beautiful, especially if you enjoy walking. I would definately recommend this hotel and will be going back for another visit.

As our daughter was married at the Hotel on this occasion we stayed in the feature room. It was warm and comfortable and a nice large room.The food was good and the wedding reception there went very well. Everyone seemed very happy even though some of the rooms need refurbishing it is reflected in the price you pay for the room. We have sayed here before and have always been given a warm welcome and been most comfortable.

One of our party with a young baby, were in a room which was above the back entrance and they could smell the cigarette smoke from outside. This room perhaps should be made a smokers room.

The old inn style, with beams, rickety flooring/wall added to the attraction of the place. Food was good value for money and with breakfast included in the price of the room, this was great value for money.

Noise from the toilet system went on for a long time, but on the whole nothing to complain about

Its age - its quirky corridors and rooms - warm and comfortable bar/room/lounge - very convenient for visitng the town and the local area - very good value for money

Realy pleasent stay. All facilities in room and hotel staff very helpful and freindly. Would recommended to anyone.

WaS not there long enough to form oppinion

The fact that I had to pay for an internet that was never used just because it was there. There was no mention of having to pay for a service that I would not be using. This extra doubled the cost of the hotel.

As Coggeshall has a bypass the village is very quiet and my room at the back of the hotel although overlooking the car park was still quiet. It was a lovely sunny room and very airy. The village itself is very interesting and lovely to stroll around in the evening. The hotel location is ideal for the coast, towns and countryside. The food in the bar and restaurant was very good and the staff are very friendly.

The only thing I would comment on is the staffing levels which seem to be at a minimum. I had to wait some time to register when I arrived as the only member of staff was serving in the bar. Likewise when I left I had to wait at reception to check out whilst the member of staff was again serving in the bar. That said the staff were very friendly.
