The White Hart Hotel and Restaurant are situated in the village of Dorchester-on- Thames, 8 miles south of Oxford. Its excellent reputation makes it an ideal base for any visitors to Oxford and the surrounding area. The White Hart Hotel has provided a warm welcome to travelers for over 400 years. The hotel has a superb fresh food restaurant, warm welcoming bars with log fires, resident's lounge, and 24 en-suite bedrooms including cottage suites and four poster luxury beds. It's location. Very good for walking in the area and the maps available at reception were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. For breakfast there was a good variety of good quality food. Although cost of the actual stay was good value we found the cost of evening meals, both at the hotel and elsewhere in the village, was very high. The food was very good however.

The friendliness and will of the staff to please was very evident. The staff went out of their way to ensure that our stay was brilliant. The food was excellent, my wife had special dietary needs, and the chef was well prepared, and had come up with several exciting options for my wife. The location of the hotel was ideal for us to partake in long walks, but was just as convenient for an all day shopping day in Oxford. The hotel itself is very much like an old inn with lost of character, and my wife and I are very much looking forwad to staying again. In closing we could not say enough about the staff and the service they provided. we were trully and sincerely made to feel special. So thank you! The hotel was really busy on saturday night, so when we arrived back at the hotel in the evening, there was no parking availabe in the carpark. and that is just being picky!

Everything. The hotel is charming and lives up to the photographs on its website. The staff are most friendly and helpful in every way. On arrival we were upgraded to a delightful suite at no extra charge. We would strongly recommend this hotel. It deserves the highest rating. Take a detour and enjoy this unique experience.

The Old world charm of the building, the welcome and continuing helpfulness of the staff (to me and to other guests), the individuality of the room, the facilities in the room - hot drinks and biscuits ....

Beautiful old and atmospheric building; individual quirky but comfortable rooms; good, interesting food; friendly staff. Room was initially far too hot, and heating controls difficult to locate and .work - but managed them eventually

As a woman travelling alone for business, I liked being in a friendly and welcoming coaching inn where I could eat an evening meal. I noticed other diners eating alone so I'm not the only one! I chose the hotel because it was close to Oxford and was so pleasantly suprised at hope beautiful the village of Dorchester-on-Thames is. I'd like to live there! Nothing - a lovely hotel. Slightly expensive for my budget bit will definitely try and use again if working in Oxford

A nice comfortable country inn located in the pretty village of Dorchester, not too far to drive from Oxford. Pleasant staff and nice english breakfast. My twin room was a nice size as well (not too small). If you need a cot for a baby I would recommend phoning ahead prior to booking to be sure they have one available. (Staff cheerfully obliged when I phoned ahead, but mentioned they don't normally have them on site during the week).

“We like the village and the old worlde nature of this hotel. It is bustling and friendly with a crowded bar - which is the atmosphere we like. The price was excellent and the food good. This was our second visit - whic speaks for itself.” Charles, Newmarket, Suffolk |

“The room in this quaint pub was great, comfortable and clean and overlooked the abbey across the road. We were walking the Thames Path and it was really close by. The staff were really friendly and the food fine. We loved playing dominoes after dinner and wandering around the old village.” Tony, Ballandean |
