This country guest house is situated just 3 kilometres (2 miles) from junction 40 of the M6/A66, offering you a small, luxurious and homely alternative to regular travel accommodation. Some hotels and guest houses can be very impersonal and soulless, treating each guest as little more than a name or number. At The White House, we are very different, focusing our efforts on providing a personal and unique service, where all our guests are treated as individuals. So if you are tired of normal characterless accommodation give us a try and you will not be disappointed. A non-smoking bar is on site. The hotel was very clean, very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Nice to have a room with a proper double and a single for our teenage son. Lots of space to park and free wifi :)

It was very comfortable, quiet, warm and cosy. Owner was very welcoming and attentive to your needs. We would have liked an en-suite shower.

The White House is a very good guest house offering clean and comfortable facilities and serving an excellent breakfast. Might like to give some thought to the time the central heating comes on as the weekend we were there the weather was cold and wintry and the room was cool to start with.

The room was very clean with a comfy bed with quality linin. The breakfast was good and overall it was good value for money in a lovely part of the world. There is a pub and restaurant 100m away which served very good food. My only issue was the shower cubicle in my room which was very small ( I'm quite big ) and took about 15 mins to get a temperature which was neither freezing or scolding .

Plenty of room. Armchairs in the bedroom plus a nice guest-lounge with good choice of books. Was the sherry decanter for us? I should have asked! Very comfortable bed. A god night's sleep. Can't think of anything. Parking a little tight, maybe.

Very nice place to stay, the full english breakfast was delicious and very filling! Very friendly! Would definately stay again given the chance. The WI-FI did not work when we got there, which was one of the reasons we chose this property. Something was done to fix the WI-Fi overnight, but this was really too late as we were leaving!

Good position to break our trip from North of Scotland to South East England. The proximity to the George and Dragon (gourmet pub) makes where to go for dinner a no-brainer.

Staff were attentive, helpful and friendly - especially proved by our inadvertantly thinking we had locked ourselves out. We enjoyed the beautifully kept garden and there was ample space for cars to park. The breakfast was well presented continued the white theme throughtout. Too close to a busy main road.
