The very friendly couple, and the very nice breakfast. Also they bent over backwards to make our stay exactly what we wanted. Could have a bar, or at least served drinks later than 8pm (but i think they may have done if we'd have asked!!) |

A very well maintained and presented hotel, although I would class it more as a guest house. The owners obviously take a lot of pride in their business and I personally think they will get a lot of returning guests. Breakfast was excellent and the quality of the produce used was evident. |

Extremely friendly and helpful staff who go out of their way to ensure your holiday is an enjoyable experience. Very relaxing atmosphere, a top end guest house which really should be classed as a hotel. Food first class and cooked to each individuals need. An excellent base to explore the Lakes |

the hotel was clean and the staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome, the location was about a 10 min walk from the actual center of windermere. The choice for breakfast was great there was a menu with lots of options and the food was very good. I would reccommend this hotel. The only thing was there was no public w/c in the lounge area so if you needed the w/c you had to go back to the room. |

The Willowsmere was very well run and spotlessly clean.and comfortable. We were greeted by the owners and offered tea and coffee on arrival. The breakfast was excellent, and although we spent very little of our time there, over our 5 day stay the owners were always friendly and obliging. We had one night of terrible weather (for July)but were warm and cosy inside, and I'm sure this would be so in mid winter. |

The breakfast was good and it was quiet with a nice garden. Firstly, it is not really a hotel. More a B and B. The price of £101 is far too high. The staff were not particularly friendly. Breakfast was served from 8 until 915am and we were made to feel like we were in the way when we arrived at 9am for breakfast; staff cleaned up around us and clearly could not wait for us to leave. The bed was extremely uncomfortable ( very firm mattress) and the toiletries were not superior as billed. There were dirty marks and hair in both the bath and sink. If the price had been £60-70 per night that would be a better refelection of what the hotel has to offer. |

Our room was very clean and the big white fluffy towels and dressing gowns were much appreciated. As well as the usual drinks we were also provided with sherry, orange squash and good quality biscuits. The breakfasts were brilliant with a huge choice of food on offer. The service was excellent. The bedding and sheets were also of high quality. There was a huge carpark and a beautiful back garden with plenty of places to sit. The hosts were very happy to recomend things to do and restaurants to visit. The position of the hotel was on a main road and so our bedroom was quite noisy. It was quite a long uphill walk to anywhere to get a drink or anything to eat, and at the end of an activity packed day this became quite a chore after the third night. The hotel does not have a bar and it was only possible to buy drinks up until 8pm. |

Comfort of room excellent breakfast. We would have liked better bar facitities we had to purhcase a bottle of wine to last all night which would have been better served in a wine cooler as it soon went warm where we would have prefrred to have bought nice cool beer through the evening. We would have also like to have been able to get a light snack or just some nibbles during the evening. I appreciate that the town was only a short distance away but being disabled and having spent a very long & tiring but very enjoyable day at Amleeside we just wanted to relax in the comfort of your loung. this is not meant to be critical but just a comment and hope it is helpful. |

room was ok breakfast was very good no licensed bar the 2 nights we were there though it stated there was cracked toilet cistern in our room no extraction in bathroom so you had to keep bathroom door closed to prevent fire alarm going off - a bit odd for a supposedly 4 star hotel we only saw one member of staff during our stay would not stay there again |
