Room extremely comfortable
Noisy guests talking loudly in corridor at 2am!
All good really.
Staff very friendly, breakfast good.
Venue organisation and food
Rip off prices for some drinks especially wine we were told £12 a glass and £40 a bottle. Having tasted it it was ok but nothing special.
The whole stay - beautiful location, very comfortable bed, large bedroom, pleasant staff, great food which we thoroughly enjoyed, although quite expensive. Nothing we didn't like.
Spacious room and bathroom. Very clean. Comfy bed and easy chairs. Exceptional customer service. Superb breakfast. Adequate car parking.
Difficult to pinpoint anything, but the low energy light bulbs had a long warm up period.
Brilliant customer service, especially Martin on reception
The bedding was wonderful.
It would have been lovely to have been able to go for walks in the grounds but there didn't seem to be any walks nearby.
Too hot in room
Beds were lovely
Although there was only one other diner at breakfast we were not given any option of where we sat and were seated right next to him.
Overall the general level of comfort and decor was good. The location and the grounds were lovely. The staff very helpful. The function rooms were very nice. The restaurant food was very good both dinner and breakfast.
Some of the tile grout in bathroom particularly in the shower area was discoloured and needed a good scrub or re-grout. The wash basin had a crack
Everything only reason I'm not staying anymore is I have moved from Basingstoke to Lincoln to work. Fabulous place nothing too much trouble and feels like 'home from home' without having to do any chores!
That I still waiting for a copy invoice to be emailed to me.
Two weddings in two days, which was not mentioned to us when we checked in. The parties went on into the night. No problem for us, but I can imagine others might have a problem when they open a window
A nice hotel in a nice location that we believe could be excellent but they have to make sure they provide facilities for all their guests as it did seem that the staff were heavily involved with the guests from the wedding party..
Arrived on a Friday and a large wedding party had taken over the hotel - a lot of activity both in the reception area, the bar and the communal areas including the garden which inhibited where we could actually sit in relaxation and read a book as the hotel's literature suggests which limited the use of the facilities. Had we have checked we would not have booked based on past experience. In order to avoid the hustle and the bustle we went back to our room.which was disappointing. We paid a small fee to upgrade to a room so that we would not be disturbed at night.
The staff, they could not have been friendlier and more helpful. The grounds were lovely. The breakfast choice was excellent. Even though there was a wedding when we stayed there it was quiet. We did not hear a peep.
The bathroom was a bit tired. It is a bit near the motorway so when we were on the grounds we could hear the traffic, but it wasn't that bad.
The embarrassment of being in possession of A DEBIT CARD, i was treated like some alien. I had to walk from my room after I ordered room service to the till to pay and they still CHARGED ME FOR ROOM SERVICE. PATHETIC. You need to state this on your website that you only accept payment via a credit card OR pay upfront. This is most inconvenient
Easy access to the hotel. Splendid surroundings and excellent rooms. Cuisine is good but needs alternative plain dishes.
Lack of subtitles on LG TV (not recommendable) in my room for me as a HOH client - no access to news and sports. Can't sleep under hot quilt as I am allergic to down feathers!
Staff friendly and attentive, food very good, well appointed throughout.
The setting is beautiful, staff in the main pleasant and the room was clean and spacious. We would go back if there was a special offer as it is a nice hotel, very peaceful and great for a weekend break.
Check in on arrival was a bit of a shambles. We were a little early (2.40) and were just told we couldn't check in until 3pm. When we did check in the details on my booking card were incorrect - apart from my name everything else was wrong including my husbands name, our address, phone number and car registration number. We booked for dinner and while the setting was lovely the food didn't quite live up to our expectations. It wasn't quite hot enough and lacked a little flavour. Breakfast was also disappointing as the hot food was left out as a buffet rather than cooked to order as stated online.
Welcome, room, food and all round bonhomie of staff.
Slight intrusion of road noise and total lack of leisure facilities, even down to a stroll (without being attacked by bees!).
Friendliness and efficiency of the staff.
The welcome from reception staff was superb. So friendly and helpful.
The hotel would benefit from a spa. Just a small pool and jacazzi would be nice.
Very attentive staff. Good facilities.
Couldn't have afternoon tea as they were fully booked which seemed odd as there were many empty tables. But they did serve a put off tea and some alternative cake.
