Although small the rooms were clean and comfortable. Impressed with the secure carparking for a reasonable price.

Extreamly disappointed with the very poor breakfast service. Me and my partner went down for breakfast at 10.00am on Sunday morning to find that there was hardly any hot buffet left. Serveral other guests were already complaining to the staff about the little to no choice of hot breakfast. When asked (albeit several times by various guests) to fetch out more food the food that was brought out was luke warm at best. We complained to the Manager who informed us that a delivery of food that was expected that morning had not been delivered. (Very poor excuse, relying on food to be delivered on the morning it is needed, if indeed this was the truth). The Manager refunded us our breakfast, we wasn't the only ones either.

Excellent breakfasts, good availability of buses on route into Birmingham. The extra evening meal was taken on the first night after flying in from Tenerife. Reception called a taxi after the one we had booked was very late. . I was close to the Botanic Gardens where I attended a conference and I was in walking distance of the venue. It was excellent for getting into Birmingham.

The room was rather cramped as the hotel is designed with wedge shaped rooms and for two people was rather cramped. We had to bring three cases with us and they took up quite a bit of room in the space available. Helpful staff, but the receptionist we chose to ask for local news had just come up from London and couldn't help us. He did offer London advice, we were going on to London, but we didn't get the question we asked answered and I do think a book of information should be kept on reception to help visitors. It would not be that difficult to compose such a book.

Wi-fi free but very slow, sports satellite channels didn't work in room, single room absolutely tiny, bathroom the size of a phone box, noisy in corridors in early hours of the morning, shower no more than a dribble,

Very little !! The Hotel Bar was friendly and strangers mixed together well.

The rooms are small for a Hotel claiming 4 star status and are very stuffy. Yes they have signs saying "ask for a fan from reception". That they have theses signs tells you they know it is a problem !! Whilst there are 2 lifts only once in 3 days did both work. And they are small. With the chioce of Hotels on Hagley Road much better to choose one of them than here !!

Good location.

Single room very small. Extra charge for hotel guest for parking. Wifi in room did not work for the first night. Poor facilities, not able to heat up ready meal, hotel did not have microwave for guest use, and staff were not helpful to provide or suggest alternative.

Small room of triangle size, (web site claimed 25m2???) you walked into the tv when getting past the bed. No view and small window. Bar expensive, charge for on site car park.

Central location - value for money

Restaurant - food at dinner was atrocious. Starters ok. Main - Everything cold inc plates, steak inedible - couldnt cut through it and it was raw, fish and chips tasted of old tainted oil, batter horrible, chips cold salad had seen better days. Wouldnt eat there again. Staff offered to put it right but we were put off by then. Did give us a free drink though.

Small room, but quite comfortable. All the usual bits and pieces in the room. Slept very well and not bothered by any external noise. Staff friendly and very helpful. Very large bar area. Good choice at breakfast. Good location, quite easy to find the hotel. Car parking appeared quite adequate no problems.

Not an attractive building. In some of the stair wells and stair- cases the carpet is quite worn, mucky and a bit thread-bare. I was staying and attending a conference and incredibly there wasn't enough food for everyone. More had to be hastily prepared leaving a wait of about 10 minutes.

Arriving on site and first impressions are not great as the exterior is in need of some tlc - when's an iconic shape not an iconic shape.... When it's dated perhaps? My other half certainly looked on with trepidation as we pulled up in the car. But parking was easy (I'll come back to parking later) and the reception was a bright and warming place. The staff were proefssional rather than necessarily welcoming. Our (Standard Double) room was absolutely fine. Clean, looked like it had been recently updated, warm, flat screen TV, Wi-Fi signal receiving. So good start.

The bathroom was very small with nowhere to even put one (let alone two) sponge-bag. We also had a moderately annoying dripping tap. One design fault here though... The bathroom door had an obscured glass panel which means if the bathroom is used during the night then light streams through the glass panel and floods the rest of the room. Bit dumb and totally avoidable. Just a couple of further thoughts. Our room was booked for two people well in advance, so why did the hotel only lay out one set of towels (hiding the other set at the back of the wardrobe)? And secondly, when the design of the hotel is partially formed by the fact that the rooms are above the hotel's own (circular) multi-storey car park I found it a little unecessary to be charged an extra £3.50 for parking. To be fair this charge was well publicised within the booking information in advance, but just a bit unecessary in my view.

Very convenient for Birmingham City, room was small but everything was there. The breakfast contained a good selection and was hot. We had an evening meal at the hotel too and were very pleased with it.

Staff went beyond the call of duty to help. Room service was speedy.

Could hear next door talking on the phone late into the night.
