We really ejoyed our stay at the Thistle. Even though it is a large hotel it had a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Nice large rooms. The location is excellant for everything you want to see in Brighton. The bathroom could have done with a bit of a sprouce up. There was loud music noise from the bar below one night. However, we were moved very quickly and it did not spoil our stay.

Room was very spacious. Booked a twin and it had two double beds - lovely! Loved the design/layout of the foyer/lounge area. Had view of the seafront too. Although perfectly clean, the bathroom was alittle tired and dated.

We visit Brighton each year for our anniversary and stay at the Thistle as the location and the hotel suits our needs. Very disappointed with the room, I paid for a deluxe room and it was very poor, the doors have been removed from the wardrobe (as in all other rooms apparently) but that meant there was no full length mirror available. No binoculars, no mini bar, the decor was very drab which was noticeable from last year's room which was vibrant and modern, we did run our complaint by the receptionist who was very courteous but made no attempt to appease us with any offers of reimbursement or discount. We will need to think about where we stay next year...

We liked how clean our room and the hotel was. The staff were friendly and we loved the gym and swimming pool. We also liked the set up of the hotel as it is quite unusual. The location is perfect. We thought the bathroom could have been a little more up dated. We could see the taps in our room were old and the mirror wouldnt stay up. At one point of our stay I felt cold and tried to put the heating on but it was only cold air.

Thistle Brighton is more of a 'traditional' hotel. Staff are obliging and helpful. Room comfortable and more importantly quiet. Ideal for shopping and sea front.

Comfortable room - no complaints at all. This hotel is hideously overpriced. Even at the booking.com discount rate the room was £170 per night at the weekend! In addition, the hotel knows there is a chronic parking shortage in Brighton and charges hotel guests £20 per night!

The location was perfect for both the beach and shopping only a couple of minutes from both. We also liked the spacious lounge area where we enjoyed our drinks as we watched the world go by. The room was spacious and very clean and comfortable. Having a safe in the room is always important to me. My husband enjoyed the gym and I availed of a massage on the premises when my neck and shoulders were giving trouble. All in all everything there at hand, relaxing and enjoyable.

The best thing about the Thistle Brighton is the location. We had a sea view from our room and it was lovely. You must ask for a sea view! Over priced! We booked a standard room originally but upgraded when we got there. The room was nice but not worth the money. The only good thing was the view. And when we went down to breakfast, it wasn't even included in the room rate.

Third visit-love the location of the hotel and the sea view. Very friendly staff, always smiling and helpful. Rooms always spotless. Warm atmosphere to the hotel, liked using the pool. This time we had a problem parking and did have to wait for a ticket at the thistle entrance of the carpark for about 20 mins or so. It was a bank holiday weekend so to be fair thats probably why and it is open to non thistle customers too at another entrance, however on previous visits this hadnt happened before and wasnt a good start to our weekend break. The other thing that would be nice is a complementry bottle of water in the fridge.

The room was right over a nightclub and we heard music all night. The toilet overflowed one afternoon( with little paper in it) and we called to have it fixed. Nothing was fixed for 5 hours. We then tried to call again, but no one answered for 20 minutes, my 70 year old mother had to walk to the front desk, wait on a 10 minute line and then she insisted the manager come to the room to fix it. He did and it was fixed, but not a good experience with 2 young children. Finally, there was a loud fire alarm that went off at 7:30 am the last morning we were there, we were instructed to evacuate (again with a 70 year old and 2 young children), we later found out most guests did not evacuate.

We had a very comfortable stay at the hotel in Brighton. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful at all times, and even when their computer system went down at check-in time! The room was very clean and well presented. We used the swimming pool and the restaurant and both were very enjoyable (the food was delicious!). I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel itself is conveniently located on the seafront, the interior is very clean and welcoming and the decor is to a high standard. There is another entrance which leads you directly to the Lanes shopping boutiques and restaurants, it is accessible to the main town centre. The hotel room itself was very clean with towels and toiletries supplied. The rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and items are replenished. If using the leisure facilities towels are also supplied at no extra cost. If you arrive before checking in time staff will store your luggage in a secure side room at no additional cost. The fact there was no back up system for checking in as we along with other guests were kept waiting for up to an hour as the computers crashed and staff were trying to rectify the problem. Also problems trying to get onto the public car park that runs under the hotel, half an hour was spent sitting in a queue. I would advise people to arrive well before their check in time to avoid the inconvenience of queueing.

Not a lot the location was fab & that's it. In no way should this hotel be classified as a four star hotel. The room that we had was just like a travel lodge room but at three times the cost. The breakfast was also poor as the fruit was in poor condition. We also arrived slightly early but had to wait until two o'clock which I feel was not on, as most hotels do allow you to check-in 15 mins early.

The hotel is near the beach, parking facilities, relaxing atmosphere, privacy Some of the staff in the restaurant need more training. Because we sat at the table for 10 mins no one ask if we would like coffee or tea. I also saw one staff taking a customer plate without asking if she finish or not. She was still eating.....otherwise

Location was excellent. Unfortunately, deafening drilling and other building work commenced at 9:00 in the morning. We complained that there was no warning that this would happen and it was unacceptable to have to endure such noise when the check-out time was 12:00 (we had hoped for a relaxing lie-in). Even though we called to complain and were told that the duty manager would call us back, he did not do so.

Location The bed/pillows were uncomfortable and we were not made aware in advance that there was some building works going on. The room was pre-paid and on checking out I was told the only thing left to pay was a £1 donation to your chosen charity. Donations are optional and I do not appreciate the hotel trying to con customers into 'donating' to their charity. This is shameful practice.

The moment you walk into the hotel you are greeted wwarmly by the staff. Not just reception staff, but all hotel staff, and we felt that during our stay. Everyone was genuinely interested in us, and constantly asking if everything was ok, and if there was anything we needed. The hotel is spotless, tastefully furnished and the beds are really comfortable! In the restaurant the tables were laid for couples and tables of 4. We were 3, just us and our 8 year old daughter. We asked if we could sit by the window where the tables for couples were, and immediately the restaurant staff moved furniture very happily. Nothing was too much trouble. We would most definitely stay there again. The outside of the hotel is not the prettiest, and doesnt draw you to it. But as soon as you walk through the doors, the wonderful atrium takes your breath away. It is light, airy and spacious, and perfectly situated on the beachfront.
