Thistle Bristol

Rooms were quite large and spacious. Ideal for travelling famillies with younger children (needing Travel Cots). Good sized bathroom, and all rooms were clean.

Annoyingly, only one thing lets this hotel down and thats the prices for breakfast (£15.95! plus an additional £5 for Room Service) When it did arrive (promptly at 8:30) it was cold. I had to add hot water to my tea, beans were solid, Croissants were stale. Wished i never bothered. Waitress was miserable too. Advertises a pool - but this is not within the hotel. It's actually next door, owned by a separate Gym.

Very helpful staff, very clean and comfortable rooms, smart decoration.

Friendly staff

The staffing of reception was grossly inadeqaute the staff did their best but the wait was the worst i have had for many years in many hotels

Liked the location as not far from centre. Room was very cosy and bed was really comfortable. Restaurant was excellent and all staff helpful and friendly.

The staff were friendly upon arrival. the proximity of the hotel to the city centre was good.

The room was small. The bathroom could have been cleaner, particularly around the bath and shower taps area. The hotel was noisy until the early hours and noisy early in the morning.

I was not entirely impressed by my stay at the Thistle Bristol, see below.

Our initial reception at the front desk was cold to say the least. Our first room had a crack in the window which was letting cold air in and the heating did not work so we had to switch rooms. We went down to Tyrell's for a bite to eat after that and found it difficult to even find staff to place an order with. Once we did place an order for a burger costing over £12, my husband recieved it with just a burger on the plate and no chips. I had ordered a side of chips with my sandwich. By the time we finally recieved our chips, we had finished our other food. We were really looking forward to staying in a four star hotel after staying in the country at a two star hotel, however were very much dissapointed.

Nice room

My room was on the first floor, DIRECTLY above what turned out to be the dancefloor / ballroom. The hotel had hired out this room on the night in question for a company party. Literally the pictures on the walls and the phone in my room were vibrating from the bass. eventually after much difficulty I was moved to a room on the 4th floor, where the musci was still loud. I would not stay in this hotel again if they hire out the room for a party - check first when booking! Shame, great hotel, great location otherwise.

The location was perfect for the major shopping malls and arcades of the city, likewise its is situated within walking distance of theatre's, execellant resturants and hostileries

Central location

Poor service, unhelpful staff. Services offered but told nota vailable. Manager could not offer any reason, just shrugged his shoulders. Staff on leaving seemed bored and disinterested. Would not use hotel again.

Location right in the heart of the old city.

Furniture and bathroom equipment is really old, definitely not the standard of this hotel. WiFi access too expensive. Tv has 5 or 6 channels only (unless I was not able to use it properly but I doubt it)!!!!

Convenient location for the city centre although somewhat tucked away with the advantage of a handy car park.

The charge of £29.90 for breakfast was grossly excessive.
