The Grand by Thistle (Formerly The Thistle Bristol)  

Decor was lovely and hotel was very clean. Location perfect.

Reception staff, particulary when checking out. No smile and no eye contact. Didnt get asked any questions eg normally you get asked "did you enjoy your stay" "was everything ok with the room" etc etc Very poor.

I didn't like the fact that WiFi wasn't free when you are a guest

It is a a great location, nice and beautiful hotel.

Comfortable bed. Very nice breakfast. Excellent location.

Room 126. Unable to operate the wall lights seperately from the ceiling lights. One of the wall lights was hanging off the wall. Water was initially yellow when I turned on the tap in the bathroom. Peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling. Tv remote control didn't work.

The hotel had a feel of luxury but was not over the top. I loved it and it made me want to come back for leisure purposes - possibly a romatic city break with my other half! Staff were really professional and friendly and the express check-out option was really weel organised. The secure parking was a bonus and good value for money.

Front bar had run out of two draught lagers at 6.45pm on a Saturday evening,--------- not good management.

The room was spacious and comfortable. All areas were clean and well designed. Staff were polite, and very responsive, eg when we found that we only had one set of towels another was sent up immediately with apologies. All staff were pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was good. It was very convenient to be able to leave the car in the car park after we had checked out in order to go shopping and sight seeing. We really enjoyed our stay.

bathroom - no walk in shower only coffee in the room no mini bar for non business residents breakfast should be included in price carpet in dining area full of stains generally needs updating

Breakfast was very good. Bar area on the ground floor relaxing. Doorman very helpful especially on arrival Reasonably quiet at night. Good location for Bristol both sights and shops

The restaurant is expensive and very slow service.

The rooms were lovely and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was outstanding

We had an issue with noise from other hotel guests which was dealt with poorly by the night staff

Lovely room, deluxe, king-size, double.

We booked through Booking.com and got the room for a really good rate. We went to see the filming for "Deal or No Deal" so was great for location. Hotel staff were more than helpful, we originally stayed in room 267 but once we had unpacked we'd noticed the window had broken and didn't close properly so we sat in a draft. They moved us straight away down the corridor which did seem an improvement until 5.10am when a couple next door decided to have a domestic and woke us. We rang reception straight away and this was soon put right. Reception wavered the £8 carpark fee due to this so was nice to see they tried to put right. Overall had a great stay, breakfast was only £10 on arrival and worth every penny.

Paper thin Walls, and carpark was very tight.
