Was quiet noisy , the bath was dirty and nail varnish marks on the bedside table, only 1 tea bag each and the sugar paper containers had been wet so the sugar was hard.

Center of Bristol, room clean. Expensive for what it is, noisy as I had a room close to the corridor doors.

Absolute disgrace how a hotel of this quality can charge the prices it foes. On arrival after booking a deluxe room was put in a single room! Three room changes and eventually got to bed at 11 o'clock. Never ever again - a fortune for a kip!

Booking out of this hotel. We are in our sixty's retired and well seasoned users of hotels in Europe and America and actually worked in Bristol hospitals for decades. Never stayed in a Bristol hotel until this terrible excuse for a hotel which we booked for four nights. We were greeted by a very pompous snooty young male receptionist who was not helpful at all and gave us incorrect information setting us up to fail. The first floor twin room we were given was so small we could not open the door properly to get in because one of the beds was stopping it. It must be the darkest dingiest room we have ever been given with no views constant noise of the hotel extractor fans. Even the toilet roll holder kept falling out ... need I say more. My husband had to urgently leave after the first night. My first night alone I was kept awake by the party in the banquet room directly below me. I complained and was moved to the top floor. The car parking facility is an absolute nightmare its so small and very tight turns even for our hired small Astra. The walls are covered in paint off other cars. All in all the worst hotel experience of our lives.

The decor was lovely and the facilities were very good. Nice dressing room table and mirror and plenty of storage. The quality of the food on the Hotel menu was fantastic. My room felt cold all night even though the heating was on until I noticed the next morning that one of the windows did not close properly, leaving a draft. Too late to complain really.

The room was very tired looking with cracks in the walls/paint flaking off etc. Our window looked into a courtyard which was disgusting. The hotel gym is actually a gym next door not onsite and the car park for a larger car would be a real headache trying to get park.

Don't put people in rooms above function suites and then be surprised when they want to be moved due to noise.

The staff weere really friendly and helpful. The lady at recption gave us a quieter room when she realised that we had a baby and they were really quick to set it up once we arrived. The housekeeping asked us when it would convenient to clean our room instead of barging in which was really good. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived until we were leaving. Our room was a bit chilly but given the age of the building and the eeather outside it wasn't surprising and it soon warmed up.

The charges were very reasonable and it was a real plus being in the centre of the city but without the city noise. The staff were very helpful and went that extra mile to help us. We appreciated the loan of bathrobes. The room was comfortable and so was the bed. The description of the room as 'de luxe' raised expectations which it did not fulfil (although it had some smart pictures )but actually for the price, it was good value. The furnishings looked a little 'tired'.

City centre location Reception staff were stressed on checking in because their printer was not working and they have difficulty in getting management to help to rectify. We were in a room that seemed to be 3 inches away from a large disco party being held in a function room. The noise was overwhelming- we might just as well have been staying in the function room - noise from which continued until 1 a.m. Fortunately, we did not return to our room until just before then, but our stay would have been intolerable if we'd wanted an early night. It would have been helpful to have been warned of this on arrival.

There was a dreadful view of fan extracts which made a noise all night there were pidgeons above our room who cooed all night and at 6am the pipes in the bathroom made a noise which woke my grandson and I because we thought it was the fire alarm. We could also hear the pidgeons walking around above the bathroom!!! I really wanted my grandson to have a good nights sleep as he had been rehearsing for 'Coram Boy'(which is a musical play taking place at the Colston Hall in Bristol over Christmas) He also had rehearsals from 2pm till 9pm on Friday and Saturday as he has the leading part in this show. And really needed a good nights sleep. I did complain to the gentleman on the reception who told me he was very sorry and would report it. I asked if I was given a lesser room because I booked through you and he said that I was as I had only paid £59 and had I turned up on the day I would have had to pay £100 and something!!!I Have never been told this before and I have booked several hotels through you - they have always been good. I will never go to The Grand again and I would like to know if this is your policy- that if we book through you we should expect to be given a much inferior room. I stayed in room 239 and sincerely hope they do something about it..

Cleaniness and comfort. Staff I stayed in room 324, the drawer handles on the desk were the most useless I have ever met. I have a fairly strong grip and I struggled to open them. Anyone withan arthritic complaint or grip problem would not be able to open them. They are a very stupid design.

Convenient to our Bristol offce and for city No light bulb in light above bed. Bath VERY DANGEROUS as the right side handle next to the wall is impossible to use when getting out of the bath. I slipped, fortunately no injury but others might not be so lucky. The handle is possitioned so that you cannot hold on to it and eeds to be re-alligned to be of any use.

The front desk and bar staff were really friendly and helpful, particularaly a chap called Ewan. I thought that our room was fair considering the price. The shower was very good. The location was great. I though the breakfast was over priced and the restaurant of poor design for lots of people. I would have purchased from the Minibar if there had been one. The door staff had no idea where anywhere in the city was which would have been helpful.
