The service was good, the staff were very helpful, the room had good facilities, tea/coffee, nice flat screen tv, iron The room was horrible, it smelt of stale cigarettes, I wasn't asked whether I would like smoking/non-smoking, but had put non smoking on my reservation, also the window was broken as it had no locking catches, the door lock did not work and the chain was missing. |

The room was secure and clean with a decent shower. Beyond that there was little to recommend it. The room was dark, dated and with heating that could not be controlled. |

This hotel is 'nowhere near' the Barbican!!! Spent a lot of money on taxis to Barbican. Hotel did not have my booking for the booked 'superior room' (a standard room was booked but I was upgraded to a superior). They tried to charge for breakfast that was supposed to be complimentary according to your website. Nice hotel very poor 'Inner City Estate' location, not safe to walk out day or night!!! |

Though the hotel was very clean and staff was kind, the facilities were not really of good value for the price. This hotel is appropriate as a training institute for study tour, but it is not a suitable accommodation for taking a pleasure trip. |

Quick check in They did not offer me the room I had booked and I had a single bed rather than the double I had paid for. |

Staying on a Friday night close to Christmas I thought that the room rate, considering the quality of the hotel, the location, the facilities and the free breakfast for 2 of us (which is worth a substantial amount of money if you pay on the day at most hotels now) was excellent value for money Referring back to the previous comment on confusing offers of free breakfast, once I had managed to persuade the check in man that it was included, he then tried to direct me to my room without passing over the voucher you need to claim it. Felt like a cheap trick. |

Thistle City Barbican is reasonably close to the City of London, being a short taxi ride away from most City locations. It offers moderately priced accommodation for short business trips, although facilities are looking a little ‘tired’. |

The thing that I liked the most was that I didn't have to stay another night. Grubby room, poor beds, bathroom dirty. |

The beds were comfortable! The room was tired and old, the TV didnt work for 3 hours and staff did not keep me updated. The room service pizza I ordered was the quality of a supermarket own brand frozen pizza which they charged £13 for + a £5 tray charge - definitely not worth it! |

Ideal for meeting at the Barbican, an City restaurants etc. the duvet which was used on the twin beds was designed for double beds and subsequently kept falling off the side during the night. The shower head was fixed and no bidet was included in the bathroom suite. The batteries in the remote control; had run out and had obviously not been checked by the housekeeping staff. |
