The King James by Thistle – formerly Thistle Edinburgh

The noise in the rooms on the town side needs to be sorted, double glazing helps, the pillows in my room were absolutely terrible,4 of the same ones, with no choice.

This hotel is placed in the centre of the city, which means you can access the major tourist spots and public transportations such as Waverley railway station, St Andrew Square bus station easily by foot.

I think the facilities of the hotel are outdated and some even does not work properly, for instance the dryer in our room did not work and the flush of the bathroom was quite weak.

Rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast was excellent, so much to choose from. Access to shopping centre.

Close to town centre. Clean rooms, great staff.

Hotel was convenient for the station and city centre and the food/accomodation was good and at a reasonable price

Location of hotel close to city centre and railway station, staff were friendly and helpfull, room was clean and comfortable.

The shower was very weak no more than a dribble of water breakfast a bit pricey

Room was too small, bathroom was way too small, three days in a row I asked for a wake up call and never got it, even after ia talked to the front desk

The hotel staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, especially Francis who worked on the reception, she was very helpful in telling us good places to go and even asked us the next day how our night was! It was a personal touch you don't expect from large city hotels.

the food at breakfast was not very hot.

Perfect location for playhouse and had parking next door (with 20% discount for atying at hotel). Good rate compared to competitors.

The location was excelent being just off Princess Street. The room was well decorated and pleasant

Conveniently located for shopping, dining and, above all, the marathon which was our main interest this time.

Unfortunately, too expensive on account of the marathon.

Very disappointed - £199 for one night, the room was tiny, the decor needed updating, the shower simply did not work... We both had to go out with half washed hair. In the present climate £199 for one night in a hotel - without breakfast would imply a 4 - 5 star service and standard. this was not the case.
