Het enige positieve aan dit hotel is de centrale ligging. Alle interessante bezienswaardigheden zijn goed te voet te bereiken. Let op, neem geen kamer aan de voorkant, want je slaapt 's-nachts niet van de enorme drukke verkeersstraat aan de voorkant van het Hotel. De prijs/kwaliteitverhouding zijn beneden alle pijl. Het hotel is recentelijk overgenomen door de Thisle group, die er blijkbaar nog geen geld aan gespendeert heeft. De kamers zijn klein, de bedden te kort (indien je langer dan 1.90 bent). Het is feitelijk een vervallen zootje. Eenvoudige zaken worden niet gerepareerd. Zo waren wij bijv. niet in staat om erachter te komen op welke etage wij met de lift waren aangekomen omdat de lampjes niet werkten. Je ziet bij alles aan dit hotel dat er tijdens het hoogseizoen verminderde interesse bij het personeel aanwezig is. De gasten komen toch wel. Met name uit Italie. Omdat ik laat vloog die avond was ik genoodzaakt om een late-checkout aan te vragen, dat kon voor 'slechts' 10 UKP per uur. |

Het hotel ligt erg centraal en het is maar 5 minuten lopen van Waverly Station. De kamer was ruim genoeg en schoon. Voor een stedentrip een prima optie. Het hotel doet wel erg zakelijk aan qua sfeer en in de gangen ruikt het erg chemisch en muf. Onze kamer was aan de voorkant van het hotel en je hoort dan redelijk veel lawaai van de stad. Van het ontbijt hebben wij geen gebruik gemaakt, in de stad zijn genoeg andere leuke ontbijt mogelijkheden. |

The location was excellent. There was not enough parking for guests and the kitchen really struggled to cope with a busy breakfast service on Sunday morning. |

location, parking and reception / portering staff The window would not close, the locals made a noise throughout two nights of the stay within the square outside as the window would not close properly. The food and restaurant service is not to be recommended. |

Good standard, good price and great location. Staff were the most pleasant and helpful I've met in a hotel. Breakfast was very good and I would use the hotel again and recommend to friends. |

closeness to city centre; very good breakfast extreme road noise that prevented use of window for any fresh air. Even when window was closed road noise and building construction opposite was disturbing. |

We changed rooms three times due to the inital room not being what we asked for and the second smelling of smoke. The manager was very accommodating. Great location. The fire alarm went off at 1am and we had to spend 30mins outside in the freezing cold. Some drunken guests set it off, however the hotel made no effort to apologise for or explain what happened. The hotel also does not acknowledge requests submitted during booking through booking.com |

The central location made the city excessable albeit for shopping or the Royal Mile. The fact that it was 200 yds from the Station was also a bonus. |

Excellent hotel. Great location, less than 10 mins walk to the station and 15 mins or so to the Royal Mile. The hotel is connected to the shopping center. The room was comfortable and the bed was nice too. Nothing, other than the fire alarm in the middle of the night... it would have been better if they explained what was going on. |

Very nice rooms, close to train station, shopping, and sights. no noise at night. front desk service a little slow. Needed 2 people. Better directions from inside of hotel to adjoining shopping centre. |
