Thistle Euston  

Nette Mitarbeiter. Sauberes Zimmer. Gutes Essen. Gute Verkehrsverbindungen (U-Bahn, Bahn, Bus). Wir konnten das Zimmer für eine weitere übernachtung (die war Teil einer über Reisebüro gebuchten Rundreise durch Südengland) behalten. Für London ist das Preis-Leistungs- Verhältnis wohl okay.

Ventilator der Luftabsaugung vom Bad lärmte. Bad nicht gerade geräumig. Vom Hof her Lärm durch Kühlanlagen. Tür zum Flur lässt Lärm durch. Ein neuer Fassadenanstrich würde das Hotel auch optisch aufwerten. Die noch in Ausbildung befindlichen Damen an der Rezeption akzeptierten zwar die Buchung an sich, wollten aber bei der Rechnung einen höheren Preis. Es war erst eine Diskussion mit einem älteren Mitarbeiter erforderlich, damit auch der über booking.com vereinbarte Preis akzeptiert wurde.

The calming ambience which greeted me and my daughter when we entered the building. The very pleasant girls on reception who selected what was one of your best rooms in the hotel (room 280) after seeing that we were exhausted from our trip down. They also suggested great areas to visit and dine at. The reception area was very relaxing being decorated in cool colours and the bar area was very inviting also. We were very pleased with the hotel and the location was perfect for our stay,

Absolutely no complaints - We will stay here again on our next trip to London.

Large comfotable room, ideal for a city break across the road from Euston station and the underground. We use taxi's to get around London as found them cheaper and more convenient than getting the Tube.

8.20Am fire alarm due to contractors working and burning somethjing

It was quite central and parking wasn't too bad.

You cannot check in until 2pm, and when we did go to check in the room wasn't ready. There was no gym. And a donation to a charity appears on the bill with no information about the charity. I asked 3 members of staff to tell me about the charity, and none of them could. PS, I work for charities.

Location and nice reception/staff. Modern room.

Hydraulics of the wc almost ruined everything!!! Shower totally uncontrolable and toilet's flush never worked properly resulting in "extended stays" in the bathroom until "everything" goes down in order not to be humiliated to each other!!! But..you really have to BUY internet? And breakfast? And kinda small room for a twin bed.

The Reception staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The lower floors of the hotel appear to have recently been redecorated and were very clean and modern. However, when we got to our room it was freezing cold, we told Reception and they tried to reset the thermostat but this did not work so they called Maintenance. A portable heater was brought to our room but this did not work so the room remained freezing cold on the coldest night of the year. We told Reception that we were on our way out and if the room was not warm enough when we returned we would appreciate it if we could be moved. When we returned from our night at the Theatre we found the original heater moved to another plug socket but still not working and an additional portable heater which was working. The room was warm but no where near warm enough to be comfortable but it was so late in the evening that we decided not to request a move as the disruption would have been inconvenient for the length of time we had left. On mentioning this on our departure the Receptionist apologised but there seemed to be no real concern about the actual problem of us having had to stay for the evening in a freezing cold room with no urgency by anyone to remedy the problem during our stay or for anyone arriving and being allocated the same room.. A pleasant hotel spoilt by inefficient and unprofessional actions to correct a serious problem.

Would have been better if the deal for breakfast was mentioned at the time of making bookings and the option to pay in advance at the same time as booking the room. There were plenty of waiters in the breakfast room but only one lady who was left to cook the requests such as omlettes and deal with the complaints as things ran out and she could not keep up with everything. We never spoke to a menber of staff during our whole stay who was English.

The walls in the old part of the building are quite thin. Could clearly hear snores!

Good location for trains and tube, it was comfortable and the staff were helpful.

The welcome and help provided by the staff at the Reception desk was excellent.

We booked this hotel for a New Year break and found it perfect for our needs. The rooms were comfortable, clean and very reasonably priced. The location is also perfect; many of the attractions and sights are easily accessible on foot if you don't mind the mile or so walk, although Euston tube station is only a few hundred yards from the hotel which is great when struggling back with all the shopping!
