Thistle Euston

läget, centralt i London men ändå utanför de mest livliga områdena

Hotellet skulle vara 4 stjärnigt men vår bedömning är snarare 2 stjärnigt, och med tanke på prisklassen detta hotell ligger i (och vi betalade ändå bara halva priset) så tycker vi inte att det är prisvärt, när vi skulle checka in var inte rummet klart och vi fick vänta ytterligare ett par timmar, sen fattades handdukar mm ändå i rumet vilket var trist, Dålig service

On arrival I was offered an upgrade to a more comfortable, larger and more expensive room. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was spotless. It was very conveniently situated for transport and the city centre.

Parking was expensive - min. £20 for 24hr period - though there was ample metered street parking.

Staff were accomadating when asked about the room/stay. Room was clean. Good location for tube,nice coffee shops at Euston station!

Room was very small, double bed against wall one side! Had to ask for more than one towel for two of us! Make sure you ask about the free breakfast promotion offer because it wasn't offered on check in and it's not on your booking confirmation! We then got a full breakfast for one of our nights stay (out of 2) - be insistant! Not sure this should be a 4* hotel but ok for couple of nights

Room was clean and good size although a bit old and faded

The quality of the food in the restuarant was disappointing. Poorly microwaved fish and desert.

The hotel has a great central location, about 2 mins walk from Euston train station connecting you to the rest of the city with its underground and overground links. The hotel is tucked away behind the station overlooking a park so is nice and quiet, there was no noise interference from the trains or road. The reception staff are polite and helpful, and although it says you can book in from 2pm onwards our room was available when we arrived at approx 12.30pm. There is a consierge service to leave your bags on the final day so you can go and explore the city one final time at a cost of £1 per bag. Asked room service for a bucket, ice and champagne glasses which they swiftly delivered.

Staff at breakfast were not particulrly helpful. None were English and all tried to avoid making contact with customers either get you anything or collect finished plates ect. Seems to be some confusion as to who is entitled to breakfast and I had to bring down my paperwork which said I was allowed it as they wouldn't take my word for it. Apart from that breakfast was nice, full English or continental. The rooms were spacious, comfy beds, satelite TV, iron and board, however is in need or a little updating in my opinion, especially the bathrooms.

I liked the fact it was close to euston station

I did not like the breakfast/pricy and not good. we had to queue up. I did not like the room right next to some heaters outside making noise everynight i couldnt sleep not worth the money at all! sevice wasnt so great either housekeeping was ok and reception poor.

It had a very central location which was perfect for our stay as we travelled around London via the underground system.

The Hotel staff were helpful and efficient.

There were a couple of problems with the room - the phone did not work so was unable to get a morning call to the room or telephone reception when a bag was put in my room by mistake. One of the light fittings was not working either.

Leaving

Terrible hotel. Keys don't work in doors, rooms are drab and highly over priced, the food is shockingly bad- £12 for a limp sandwich, the kind you would find in an independant corner shop at midnight. Condescending staff. I will never stay with the Thistle group again

Convenience to ststion

Room very small, it had an adjoining room, the insulation between the doors wad very poor, I could hear everything going on in the adjoining room

Closeness to Euston station

everything was fine

IT was only a overnight stop in my travels.

The room was like being in a broom cupboard, the passage was like a train carriage.

Close to train station, clean, comfortable
