Location and WiFi
Noisy at Front. Allocated a disabled Room - felt like a hospital. Uncomfortable Bed Unable to change rooms!
Good location for university
Lack of car spaces, its on a first come first serve basis, not many spaces based on size of hotel. Had to park in a multi storey up the road which cost a lot of money overnight.
Nothing was toouch trouble. The staff were all quite young but very switched on, friendly and professional
On the booking deal I had brekkie was extra but we went out for brunch
The location was excellent for shopping and going out and about
A lack of atmosphere it would have been much nicer if there could have been a pianist /singer playing in the bar, both bar and restaurant empty for three nights
Lovely hotel in the heart of city directly opposite train station Great staff Really nice room Bar not expensive
Attic room was not as warm as rest of hotel though staff put additional heater in room when told Not many parking spaces but I'll use the train next time for ease.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
The creaky floor boards in our bedroom were very bad. Hotel Car park was full when we arrived so had to find a public car park - in the rain.
Location was very central to train station and shops. Very warm and comfortable, nice size family room, maid service every day. It felt safe too.
We had noisy road works outside our room from 7.30am each day... And the noise of some sort of extractor fan all night. Expensive to eat breakfast in the hotel.
Location and standard of room
Walls were far too thin, you could hear your neighbours cough sneeze and pee! We stayed up til 2am chatting/ whispering we were very quiet but our neighbour was still banging on the wall telling us to shut up !
As I was travelling with my 88 year old mother, we found the location of the hotel very convenient, as it is situated opposite Exeter Central Station and only a short walk from the city centre. The staff were very friendly at all times and nothing was too much trouble.
Location, breakfast and helpful staff
Decor is looking a bit tired compared to other hotels in Exeter.
Very good location friendly staff.
Car parking system, bed pushed up against wall., rather limited space.
The staff were outstanding. Excellent location
Hot water system was nt working properly which led to scalding hot or freezing cold water when showering. Was nt informed of £8 per night car park charge and there was nt enough spaces.
Excellent location. Friendly staff. Good size room.
the hot water can only keep running for half an hour.
Very helpful friendly staff. Easy to walk to town, cathedral and university. Size of bedroom was good.
Too hot at night. No view from room, and net curtains made it dark. Bathroom was very basic and old fashioned, small bath and no hand held shower for rinsing hair. Only one pillow per bed and slightly lumpy. Dining room was also a bit dark, small and old fashioned.
Staff very helpful and friendly
Other noisy guest and thin walls!! When did it become OK to shout and party in hotel rooms till 4am? Perhaps a disadvantage of a city centre based hotel?
Very closs to town
Not your falt but road works outside drilling.
Character of the building and the grand public rooms. Brilliant central location. Friendly staff and good value food and drink.
The room had just been refurbished to a high standard and was very clean and comfortable.
There was a problem with hot water in the e ending, but this was quickly rectified by the staff.
Near to shops and restaurants.
Room above where bins collected at 6:30. Bathroom v small.
Location, staff fairly helpful and knowledgeable
Despite being told at 12 noon that our room would be ready at 2pm it wasn't ... tried to accommodate us in another room but it was like a large cupboard.
Lady (sorry, I forgot her name) at reception was very helpful and friendly during checkin and proved a life saver when I realised I'd left my presentation handouts at the office. Helped with printing some copies. Went out of her way to help.
Paying for parking
Small room, lots of door banging through the night
Good central location. Large family room, excellent free wifi available throughout the hotel. The public areas are very nice and the staff very helpful. Fantastic breakfast included. Will stay again if in the area.
