Thistle Glasgow    

Suited our needs ideally for an ovenight stay. Enjoyed haveing use of the leisure facilities. Excellent rate.

I would question whether a deluxe room should have a bed as small as the one we had in our room.

Great location, lovely clean hotel, best breakfast I'v had in a while :-)

We were supposed to have bath robes supplied but they weren't in the room and the breakfast (although it was amazing) was very overpriced.

The general atmosphere about the place was very good, the staff were very friendly and helpfull, everything about the hotel was top class.

The rates were a little pricy for an overnight stay to go to a show, but if you want this level of comfort you must expect it to cost more.

Brilliant city centre location. We parked our car in the hotel car park and were able to walk to art galleries and shops. We didn't need to move the car until travelling home. The subway is a cheap, easy way to travel across the city. Excellent range of shops and places to visit. All staff polite, friendly and very helpful. Bar area relaxing & comfortable. Cooked breakfast good value - fresh with lots of choice. Enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Disappointed with meals from the specials menu, although steak excellent from main menu. By the end of our break we'd found better places to eat nearby.

Unfortunately there was a prom on the evening we stayed. Late at night there was a lot of noise shouting, door slamming & people running from room to room. I feel the hotel should've told us this function was on

The staff were Verny helpful, good location for Glasgow attractions.

very old fashioned building. Needs to be more modern.

Our room was very comfortable and a good size Bathroom was great with a good shower . This hotel has a ballroom so very busy with people going to a ball .

My only negative is the distance from the train station . We arrived at queen st station and chose to walk to the hotel . Which I felt was a longer distance than they say .

Good area.

We were disappointed when we are in room because room is not same on photo that my room was old and on photo are modern and stylist.

Room comfortable

There was very noisy air conditioning outside our room which kept us awake .

The resturant food was good and staff friendly

a shower curtain that clung to your legs. Dirty bar, sticky floor and bar staff more interested in their own chat than the filthy tables around them.

Central location is good. Bed comfortable. A/C worked very well. Quiet. Decent lighting. Clean.

Breakfast area was borderline disgusting. If staff wear black it also needs to be clean. Buffet breakfast reasonable in terms of choice and at £10 decent value but much was congealed or sitting in fat and I have no idea why I would want to extract Marmite from a large and filthy container. A choice of eggs would have been nice and I'm used to getting an individual pot of tea or coffee at most hotels I visit not being served "railway-style" from a large container. Smacked of old-style transport cafe. Whole hotel is faded and needs a refit.

The colour of the rooms

I have satyed at the thistle 4 times and have always enjoyed my stay, however this trip has made me think about booking a different hotel the next time I stay in Glasgow.

1)There was a very large party staying over the weekend that took over the hotel and were quite rude at certain times. 2) We were left with no toilet roll even though the room had been cleaned. 3) We were kept waiting for ages at the bar before being served as there appeared to be no one around. One of the other quests had to go looking for a member of staff to be served. 4) Both lifts were out of order on Sat 25th May and we were on the 7th floor. There are not enough lifts fr ahotel this size.
