The hotel is superbly located, just off junction 23 of the M6 motorway, next to Haydock Park Racecourse, and serves as a gateway to the entire North West region.

Nice welcome and feel to the reception.
I could not find the hotel at night as the sign by the roadside was not illuminated at all. The evening meal was poorly presented with no side salad even. Over priced food for what was served up!
early check in - no problem
Clean comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff.
Room very clean, beds very comfortable. Food good, a little bit overpriced but not extortionate. Staff very good and friendly! Pool and gym facilities good and water is warm! Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
The sleeping policeman at the entrance is lethal, especially if you arrive in the dark and don't see it. No covered area for smokers.
Checked that hot food was available after 11 (due to late check in). Then when we tried to order at 12, told the duty night staff couldn't cook so only cold food available. Not even oven chips or a pizza. Expected more from a Thistle.
Room upgrade was first class
Breakfast could be improved
Business hotel and was almost empty on the sunday night so very quiet
too quiet - they don't bother to open the restaurant as not enough guests staying
Location for work Bed Wifi
Food disgusting Hallways rotten Miles to get to your room
hotel was comfortable clean and the staff were helpful location brilliant for the races
breakfast was a disappointment toaster caught fire eggs were hard nothing was hot enough .evening steak was expensive and poor quality went back drinks were top price .staff were good but would not eat there again
Looks like an old manor house. Large comfortable rooms. Nice pool and facilities. The bar and dining area was very impressive. Ideally situated for a quick drive to Wigan for the football.
The food was nice
There was a wedding on site and we had loud music below us all night so we left at 10.30 pm and went home had we been told before hand there was a wedding on we would not have booked at that hotel
Space, Food, Location and all the staff.
Cold Breakfeast-Reduced cost placated the problem. Lack of info in the room registry on room service telephone numbers. Small label attached to the phone was at the bottom of the cable and not noticed.
Close to Races Most of staff
booked a room not realising it was a basic room - very very basic. Wasnt a good start to our anniversary break! Meal on first night was worst I have ver had, wished I had complained but I didnt'. It was only chicken skewar - yuk. Did get a move bedrooms and was improvement but the bad taste was already there are it spoilt our trip. This is third time we have been at this hotel but wont be back
Food, staff, location
Price was possibly a Title high due to demand
Catering - the meal on Sunday evening was very average.
Varied choice of beers etc.
Pretty expensive, even for a sandwich
Lady at reception was very friendly and helpful.
Terrible noise from the high way. Nothing at breakfast was clean, greasy fingerprints on every cup, piece of cutlery and so on. The bathroom looks like an old hospital bathroom, not something to look forward to!
The room, the food (which is always good), and the gym.
from start to when we book out is was a fab place and had a amazing time staff where great and if anyone needs a place for a wedding its the place go go kathy kennendy was a lovelly and very helpful lady thanks for a boss time
The room was comfortable and well appointed. The Hotel was well kept. I met the Manager at his request and he made me feel very welcome.
The customer in the next room having a business call at 9:30pm that I could hear every word of. I wish that the need for an exit code was more pronounced than when I arrived at the barrier and had to back up. Lesson Learned.
Didn't enjoy steak and ale pie £13.95 for a pie from the bakers not what I expected
There was a wedding on at the hotel and staff purposely gave us a room at the opposite end of the hotel so we would not be disturbed by the disco and noise.
Bathroom was a bit tired.
Staff attentive Good food Spacious rooms Good reception staff Location great Ample car parking
Clean, possessional friendly staff, big room, good value
Had a ground floor room overlooking the lovely courtyard, but there was a large group of people there making a lot of noise which many I had to shut my room window on such a lovely evening/night.
